Leavitt and Company of San Francisco established a creditable bit of automobile speed history last Suncay over the boards of the Cotati speedway. One thousand consecutive miles in 899 minutes. this means an average of 66.66 2-3 miles per hour. The beauty of the whole test was the manner in which the car responded to the tremendous strain put upon it by the drivers. At no time in the whole run was it necessary to adjust a part or to remove the hood, the motor running smoothly and rhythmically without halt or complaint. It was necessary, of course, to change drivers in the course of the test, and because of this factor the pilots were obliged to maintain a running speed of practically 71 miles an hour. In the early stages or the race against time a tackle fog settled down over the speedway shrouding the trackboard... Committee on Costumes—Mrs. George Goodale. Mrs. E. B. Segerstrom. Mrs. E. W. Baum.
