CHURCH PROGRAM FOR SUNDAY The Christian church of Anaheim will celebrate Memorial services Sunday with a patriotic program. Rev. Howe will deliver the address and it promises to be interesting, as he is the son of a civil war veteran. All the soldiers of former wars and of the late war are extended a cordial invitation to attend this service. MISS SCHUMACHER QUEST AT SHOWER Miss Vera O'Rourke was hostess last night to the Chat en Seau. The time was passed sewing, and at music. During the evening Miss O'Rourke announced to Miss Frances Schumacher that the girls were sure she would be in need of string in her married life, so she was given the end of a string to wind. After several minutes of this strenuous work she found an electric toaster at the end of the string, a gift from the girls. Ices and dainty cakes were served by the hostess. The members present were Mrs. H. K. Boyd, Mrs. Ruth Ward, Misses Frances Schumacher, Ivelyn and Lillian Degryse, Valle Iember, Mrs. Emma O'Rourke and Mrs. Z. Lane. REBEKAH DELEGATES RETURN FROM CONVENTION Mesdames Gladys Llewellyn, Ida DeVinney, Rosa B. Van Horn and Messrs Bird V. Beebe and John Ohme have returned from Oakland and Santa Rosa where they motored to attend the convention of the Rebekah assembly and the Knights of Pythias lodge. While in the north Mrs. Van Horn visited friends at Marysville where she was entertained elaborately by four generations of her family. It seemed good to her to be among her old friends once more. The ladies report a wonderful time at the Rebekah assembly and returned to their local lodge with interesting reports of the trip and meetings. The total mileage of the trip ran close to 1080 miles. The trip was made in Bird V. Beebee's car. MRS. GRIGGS HOSTESS TO PASTIME CLUB The Pastime Club members were guests yesterday of Mrs. C. A. Griggs. In the card game Mrs. Markes scored high, Mrs. Morse second, and Mrs. McClellan third. A social hour was enjoyed following the games, during which light refreshments were served. The ladies present were Mesdames Morse, Markes, C. F. Grim, H. Tuffree, Normandie, Schnelder, Dr Janss, Lacy, McClellan, Hoskins, S. Johnson, and the guests of the afternoon, Mrs. Ida Williams and Mrs. J. B. Root. MID-NIGHT CLUB AT HANSEN HOME Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hansen were hosts last night to the Mid-Night Club. The time was passed at cards with the ladies losing to the men in the three month's contest, which will mean a dinner served to the men on June 19. Many plans are being schemed for a good time on that date. Following the games a dainty two course luncheon was served to Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Barnes, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Houts, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hedges, Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Martinet and Walter Hansen and Miss Bate. JUNIOR Y. P. A. TO HAVE MEASURE PARTY The Junior Y. P. A. of the Evangelical church is planning a jolly time for all of their friends this evening in the bungalow at the rear of the church. As the guests enter the door they will be measured and charged one cent per inch of their height. Other features of interest will be staged, also. Everyone is cordially invited to attend and see what the young people have in store for them. CHORAL SOCIETY PLANS GOOD TIME The M.E. Choral society met late night at the church and enjoyed good practice. There were thirty members present to arrange for the special Memorial Sunday music. Following the rehearsal a short business meeting was held at which it was decided to have a C o'clock basket dinner at the church next Thursday evening. At this time a monthly business meeting will be held and collection dues will be taken. Every member is requested to be present. AL FUN CLUB GUESTS THURSDAY Mrs. Fred Marsh entertained Thursday afternoon in honor of the Al F Club. Cards were enjoyed and Merton Skinner received the prize the afternoon.
