Center St. CITY AND COUNTY Several physicians of Anaheim plan to attend the fifteenth annual convention of the California State Medical society which will be held Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday at the Hotel del Coronado, San Diego. More than 800 medical men are expected at the conclave, which opened today at noon with a luncheon for all county presidents and secretaries. Dr. John C. Yates of San Diego, president of the society, will preside at the first session and will be succeeded Wednesday by Dr. John H. Graves, president-elect, following the election of officers for the coming year. An attractive program has been arranged. —Autos for hire. Christian on accessories purchased from the Harold L. Arnold Auto company. The case is an appeal from the justice court. It was tried before Judge Cox on March 24 and the court decided that the plaintiff was entitled to the amount plus $6.25 court costs. —Automobiles are easily sold through a Herald Want Ad. Answering to the charge of non-support of minor children, John Scott appeared before Judge Cox this morning in Santa Ana. He stated that he had agreed to pay his former wife $25 per month for the care of their child in her custody. He said that he was unable to pay the last $25, but would do so as soon as possible. His preliminary examination was set for June 1. He was released on his own recognizance. —Witman. Dryden recently underwent a serious operation in an Anaheim hospital. MODELS FOR FASHION SHOW ARE BEING SECURED TODAY George Prince is in Los Angeles today engaging the services of ten living models for the Fashion Show, costumes to be furnished by Anaheim merchants, to be carried out, with great pomp and ceremony, on Wednesday and Thursday nights, May 18 and 19 at the California Valencia Orange show. This show will bring out a record crowd, it is assured. About 25 costumes will be shown each night, and they will represent the finest fabrics and styles obtainable anywhere. Secretary Fraser said today that he expects the Fashion Show will attract wide attention both from men and women and is delighted to know that such a feature will be put on. MOTORCYCLE MAY REVEAL DROWNING Now comes the premier fish story of the season. Roy Silkland of the Santa water works went grunion hunting last night and caught a motorcycle. About 300 yards from Huntington Beach a new Excelor motorcycle was lying in the water. Silkland pulled it up on to the beach and notified the Huntington Beach officials. They are investigating today. It is thought possible that someone may have driven into the water and was drowned. Miss Lucy Woods, head nurse at the Anaheim sanitarium, attended the meeting of the District 16 of the California State Nurses association held in the church parlor of the Church of the Messiah at Santa Ana. McNamara walked to the gates of the San Quentin penitentiary shortly after 7 a.m.; today, arm in arm with his brother, Jim, a guard turned the big bars, the gate swing open and the man who had finished his term for the so-called Los Angeles Times dynamiting stepped out to freedom. "Sorry, sorry, you can't come with me," he was heard, to say to his brother who must remain behind the big yellow walls of the penitentiary the remanded of his natural life. As they parted the two shook hands warmly. A national exposition of confectionery, soda fountains and accessories is to be held at Atlantic City during the week beginning May 23. O'Day, charged with embezzlement and obtaining money under false pretenses, was arrested yesterday in Fullerton. He was brought before Judge Cox this morning. His preliminary examination was set for May 17, and the bond was set at $2000. O'Day is said to have taken money for his own use that was to have been paid for mining land interests near El Toro. Milton MacMillan of Anaheim is the complaining witness. Varner's Colts at the Dugas and Myre bowling alleys last night. Johnson made high average, and his team made high total. The individual scores are as follows: Johnson's Cubs—Moore 162; McChester 143; Schaffer 169; Wisser 167; Johnson 181; total 2458. Varner's Colts—Splitson 178; O. VALENCIA NOW IS INVITED TO MOVE TO NEW FIELDS Following numerous complaints, Charles Carrillo, Spanish interpreter, was instructed to inform Mrs. Pablo Valencia of Santa Ana that she could choose between moving out of her present neighborhood or moving into the county jail. Mrs. Valencia was given a ten day suspended sentence recently when she was charged with disturbing the peace. She is alleged to have attempted to poison several of her neighbors and is said to be a pursuer of the elusive marihuana.
