ANAHEIM DAILY HERALD
Veterans of the World War who are disabled by disease or wounds and by reason of such disability are either temporarily or permanently incapacitated from earning a living may be admitted to the ten National Homes for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, according to national headquarters of the American Legion.
Those seeking admission are not asked the cause of their disability. The homes will accept the victim of peace as well as the victim of war. The important consideration is the actual disability. Legion officials state. The declaration of the ex-service men's organization is based upon an act of congress passed on June 5, 1920.
To obtain admission to the homes, a disabled ex-service man should either apply in person to branch home or should communicate with the governor of a branch home. The soldiers' homes are located in the following states: Ohio, Wisconsin, Maine, Virginia, Kansas, California, Indiana, Tennessee and South Dakota.

SUMMER SESSION OF UNIVERSITY IS BEING PLANNED
Romance languages will occupy a prominent place in the curriculum of the University of California summer session in Los Angeles to be held June 20-July 30, according to a statement just received from Dean Baldwin M. Woods. In addition to the elementary, advanced, and conversation classes in French and Spanish courses will be offered in the literature and life of the French and Spanish nations.
Albert Leon Guerard, Agrege de L'Université de France, and Professor of French, Rice Institute, Houston, Texas, will deliver a series of lectures in English entitled "The Past Generation in France," in which he will begin with the revolt against naturalism in 1890 and end with the outbreak of the great war in 1914. A knowledge of French is not required for this course.
"The Social Background of French Literature in the Nineteenth Century," a series of lectures in French, is to be delivered also by Professor Guerard. The course will involve study of the political, religious and economic factors which have influenced French literature.
Twentieth century literature, and a course for teachers, are Spanish courses to be offered by Pedro Henrique-Urena, Ph.D., assistant professor of romance languages, University of Minnesota. There will be also a course in Spanish life and customs, consisting of lectures in Spanish, with readings and reports to familiarize the students with the actual life of the Spanish peninsula and the countries of Spanish America.

GOATS ARE IMMUNE FROM TUBERGULOSIS SAYS BUREAU CHIEF
(Farm Bureau Bulletin)
Dr. P. M. Hayes, head veterinarian at the University Farm at Davis, furnishes the report of goats slaughtered in the United States during the years 1918 and 1919, by the department at Washington, which gives one tubercular goat in 1918 in 150,000 and one in 135,000 in 1919. The French government through its medical societies has devoted much study to the milk goat, not only in France, but the scientific research extended to goats in all parts of the world and in 1918 the decision was reached that the goat through its peculiar resistance was absolutely immune from tuberculosis. Holmes Pegler, the greatest living English authority on milk goats, says that all eminent European authorities have come to this same conclusion that goats are practically immune from tuberculosis. "Who will not experience a sense of relief on hearing that goats' milk is practically free from this danger?" Because the industry is new in this country, because many of the breeders and owners of milk goats have become interested in them through ill health, they have studied the subject of milk goats and their problems very carefully. And it is the testimony of all the breeders that they have never had a case of tuberculosis.
Even in confinement as some of the large herds are kept in Switzerland, it seems to be part of the goat's physiological make up which keeps it free from this dread disease. It is a known fact the country with most milk goats has the lowest death rate, especially in children and a less percentage of tuberculosis. Is it not the milk goat of Switzerland rather than the laws of men which are responsible for the low death rate from these white plague in that country? In the Balkan states there is little or no health regulation, yet we find the next lowest percentage of T. B. and a generous use of goats' milk and goat cheese.
Milk is our first and our most perfect food; the milk of the goat is not only free from the danger of tuberculosis, but it is more like mother's milk than any other milk obtainable in commercial quantities and it is digested in half the time. In which cow's milk digests, and quite contrary to the popular belief has a very pleasing taste. The goat will probably never take the place of the cow, but its milk will more and more take its place as the most perfect food for the growing child, and a boon for the delicate stomach.
