In summer, the indoor air your family breathes is cleaned of dust, pollen and moisture. In winter, no flame by-products contaminate the air; marring walls and ceilings. Here's how the electric heat pump works. In summer, it extracts heat and moisture from indoor air and pumps it outside. The air that remains is filtered...and wonderfully cool. In winter, it actually reverses operation, extracting heat from outdoor air even if it's below freezing. This filtered, warm air is pumped evenly and gently to all parts of your home. Operation is completely automatic. Just set the thermostat for year 'round comfort. Switchover from heating to cooling (and vice versa) is automatic, depending on the room temperature. And a heat pump costs less than many separate heating and cooling systems. Adding a room? You can install a room-unit electric heat pump for a new room, or any hard-to-heat and hard-to-cool area, for little more than the cost of an ordinary room cooler alone. William Henry Darnold, 14701 Leffingwell Rd., gave himself up Friday after the clerks viewed police "mug" files. Witnesses to the Fullerton holdup and victims of other holdups tried to pick Darnold out of the lineup also. As a result, "holds" have been placed on Darnold by police in Pasadena, Monterey Park and Redondo Beach. The suspect was arraigned in Anaheim-Fullerton Municipal Court at 9 a.m. today. He was scheduled for preliminary hearing at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Bail has been set at $5,000. Capt. Herb Curtis said Darnold told him he would not post bail and is willing to take a polygraph test. Police are also checking his story that he drove to the vicinity of Ventura the morning of May 4 prior to going to Redondo Beach to see a car dealer. There is still no clue as to the identity of the second holdup suspect. Two men held up at gunpoint, Larry Shaw, 21, and Michael D. Ensign, 24, both of 1150 Casa Grande St., Anaheim, while they were walking with the weekend receipts from the J. C. Penney Co. store to the nearby Citizens National Bank.
