Arrest of Three Youths Solves Burglary Reports
An 18-year-old Anaheim boy and two 17-year-old Garden Grove boys were arrested by police of the two cities and reports show that their apprehension solves numerous burglaries and "car clouts" in the two cities.
Anaheim police arrested Harley M. Brewer of 133 Cherry St., as he remained outside the Hwy. 39 Auto Wreckers as a "watch" while the younger boys entered the establishment, intent on burglary.
Anaheim police on patrol early yesterday morning in the area observed a car, containing Brewer, pull out from a dead-end street.
As officers stopped the Brewer auto, other officers called to the scene, observed the two younger youths running across a field near the auto wrecking establishment.
They were later captured and police today are still attempting to unravel their long string of burglaries.
Detective Murray Clay of Garden Grove said that the boys have been unable to remember all of the burglaries and the "car clouts" they have attempted or have been successful in the past few months.
Clay said however, they admitted the attempted burglary of the Music Center and a nearby pharmacy on Garden Grove Blvd. near Harbor Blvd. last week.
They also have admitted stealing many tires and wheels and gasoline from parked autos.
They are being questioned further today in an effort to solve other burglary reports.
