Here and There
Doris Molumby of Santa Ana has won one of two national Katherine Gibbs Memorial scholarships, it has been announced by Harold F. Spencer, dean of Whittier College. Miss Molumby will attend the Katherine Gibbs School in New York City.
Val Moore of the Val Moore Hawaiian Dance Studio, left Saturday by United Airlines for Honolulu where she will gather new dancing supplies and the latest Hawaiian record releases. While there she will visit Hawaii, the "big island." She will be in the islands for the annual Lei Day celebration.
The Ladies Auxiliary of St. Joseph's Episcopal Church have made plans for a family fun day Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Church site, 8246 Miller, Buena Park. The public is invited to the "May Day Hey Day" which will include pony rides, games, concession booths and other events.
Donald E. Clarke of 1313 Maplewood Ave., Anaheim, has been appointed personnel director of Max Factor and Company, working out of the cosmetic firm's home offices in Hollywood. He was formerly personnel supervisor for Collier Carbon and Chemical Corporation of California. A native of Seattle, he has been a resident of Southern California for the past 12 years. He is married and has a four-year-old son.

For 1959-60 Seated
Mrs. Lee Morris, is not one to let he husband, Lee, get ahead of her.
She proved this in good fashion Saturday evening when she was installed as president of the Jay-Cettes, the wives' Auxiliary to the Anaheim Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Mrs. Morris, of 1808 W. Cerritos, was installed by Mrs. Jay Rodriguez, President of La Verne, and wife of the National Director.
The JayCette president then sat back and watched her husband, Lee, installed as president of the JayCees.
Installed along with Mrs. Morris were Doris Patrick, vice-president; Mary Shelton, recording and corresponding secretary; Pat Averill, treasurer; and Connie Tuthill, past president.
Named to the board of directors were Sally Porter and Mrs. Tuthill.
Mrs. Morris was not the only one who was joined by her husband in being named to an officer's position.
Bob Shelton joined his wife, when he was named to the executive secretary's post. Pat Averill, JayCette treasurer, saw her husband, Bob, named recording secretary and Sally Porter, board member watched Bill installed as treasurer.
OPEN HOUSE
Garden Section members of the Fullerton Branch of the American Association of University Women will meet May 7 at 7:45 p.m., at the home of Mrs. Ben Martin, 2930 San Juan Pl., Fullerton, to view some special films obtained from the famous Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile, Ala. Mrs. James R. Harmon, section chairman, stated the films are entitled "European Gardens" and "Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile."
Miss Phyllis M. Herman of 940 N. Palm, Anaheim, will sail Saturday aboard the Matson Lines' luxury liner Matsonia from Honolulu to Los Angeles, after a vacation in the islands.
Final open readings for 11 parts in Arthur Miller's "A View From The Bridge" will be held tonight at 8, in the La Shell Playhouse, 5384 Long Beach Blvd., in Long Beach. James Thayne, brilliant young Hollywood director, directing the Long Beach production of the play, said Italian parts and longshoremen are needed for the balance of the roles.
The Altar Guild of Our Savior Lutheran Church tea is tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church, 1521 W. Orangethorpe Ave.
Marriage licenses have been issued to James M. Cameron of 723 Roanne, Anaheim, and Barbara Costello of Long Beach; Jerry C. Lindner of Gardena and Judy A. Simko of 2513 Roston St., Anaheim; William Morrow of 828 Aspen St., Anaheim, and Claudia Whitman of 574 Century Dr., Anaheim; and David W. Doherty of Buena Park and Joyce L. Wilbur of 648 S. Lincoln PTA Sets Events
Meeting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Rogers, the executive board members of Lincoln Parent Teacher Association discussed plans for coming activities. They extend an invitation to parents to visit the classrooms during Open House at Lincoln School, April 30. Thursday, from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
A bicycle testing course has been painted at-the Lincoln playground by Mr. and Mrs. Ashton Steelman and Jack Polley. In the near future tests will be given the children, and those youngsters who pass will receive operator's licenses.
There will be a Field Day, May 19, at Lincoln School with relay races and games. Refreshments and school banners will be sold.
Installation of PTA officers for 1959-60 will be May 21. The newly elected officers are: President, Jack Polley; First Vice President, Mrs. Alvin Rogers; Second Vice, Mrs. Earl Harker; Secretary, Mrs. Jake Echmayer; Treasurer, Mrs. Cecil Looney; Auditor, Mrs. Gay Reineke; Historian, Mrs. Harry Callen.
THE Nu Girls
At the monthly meeting of The Nu Chapter of Alpha Iota Sorority International Honorary Society of Business Schools, meeting at Criss Business College, devoted time on plans for a rite tea for pledges Saturday, May at the college.
Miss Alexander of Haggarty's Fashion Square will stage a Fairon Show for the tea.
Other business resolved arrive the Alpha Iota International Convention to be held at the Sta-Hotel, Los Angeles in July.
BPW To Install in May; Events Slated
The Anaheim Business and Professional Women's Club's meeting held in the courtesy room of the Home Building and Loan Association, Norma Nipper presiding, brought several important coming events to the attention of the members.
The installation of officers for the year of 1950-60 will be held on Thursday, May 14 at the Red Wagon Inn. Special attention to the change in days was made as the club normally meets on Wednesday.
Members will staff a booth on "Hi Neighbor Day," May 16, a project, sponsored by the Lion Club. "It's being held for the purpose of letting our thousands of new neighbors become better acquainted with our city, its churches, civic, service and welfare organizations," says Mrs. Nipper.
As a part of Public School Music Week, the Orange County Youth Band under the direction of Vesey Walker, will give a concert Wednesday, May 6 at 8 p.m. in the Philharmonic Group To Hold Monthly Bridge

Anaheim Union High School Auditorium. Donations for adults and children will be reasonable with the proceeds used for purchasing uniforms for the bank personnel.
Annual Confab
The California Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc. will hold it's annual convention May 21-23, "50 at the Hotel Del Coronado. Delegates for this meeting will be Norma Nipper, and Signa Hatfield with Florence Bechtle and Evah Drennon, alternates.
Helen Sharp chairman presented the "New Member Night" program. The "new members" as well as the old members, gave thumb-nail sketches of their lives, providing a most interesting and somewhat amusing program.
Guests introduced were Thomasine Wilson and Floy Dobyns.

Members of the American Association of University Women, Fullerton Branch, will have the opportunity to meet the president of the new Orange County State College of three general colleges.
Philharmonic Group To Hold Monthly Bridge
Wednesday, Mrs. Virgil L. Galey, the general chairman of the Anaheim Unit of the Orange County Philharmonic, will entertain the unit's afternoon bridge group in her Garden Grove home. These monthly dessert bridge gatherings, an enjoyable means for benefiting the Philharmonic treasury, are arranged by Mrs. E. E. Dunn, social chairman.
Members planning to attend are: Mmes. Robert A. Larson, E. E. Dunn, Frank S. Foster, Herbert Baasch, Richard A. Norton, Jackson A. Moses, T. K. Sun, George Corey, Floyd Hinton, Bennett Marcus.
Among the guests invited are: Mmes. Sheldon R. Wilson, Edward Whedon, Ward Robertson, Harold Bracken, Darotha McKim, Donald Ewing, Robert K. Crossan, Lee-land Arth, W. L. Keyes.
Set for AAUW
Members of the American Association of University Women, Fullerton Branch, will have the opportunity to meet the president of the new Orange County State College at their general meeting tonight at 7:45, at the Assistance League Clubhouse. Mrs. John M. Toups, program chairman, stated that President William B. Langsdorf will discuss "The Role of the State College."
President Langsdorf is a graduate of Occidental College and received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, in History. After serving as an instructor and assistant professor of history at Occidental, chairman of the social science department of Pasadena Junior College, he left that institution as its president to assume his current position. Twenty first annual convention for the Women's Auxiliary to the Southern California State Dental Association, is slated for May 10 a.m., delegates members and guests to attend.
Adelle Davis, B.A., M.S., consulting nutritionist and well known author will be the keynote speaker.
Following election of officers auxiliary progress and accomplishments will be reported by district judges, California Institute of Technology, and Harvard University.
At this meeting, members will vote on branch legislative standards for the state and national conventions. The Fullerton branch will send nine delegates to the State Convention to be held May 7, 8 and 9 at the Ambassador Hotel Members will also vote on sending delegates to the National Convention in Kansas City June 21-26.

ALHOUETTES – FUN AND SUN’ — When the

Bena Park, opens its doors on May 9 at 2 p.m., members of the Orange County Mannequins Association will present a fashion show, entitled—Alhouettes for Fun and Sun.” Sponsors of the show, which will feature the mother-daughter luncheon, are the Men’s Fellowship of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The men also are preparing the luncheon, states Henry Holst, president of the Fellowship. All types of clothing—including those for the expectant mother, the tall and short person and for children, will be presented, says Madelyn Thomas of the Mannequins. Theta Nu Girls Set Rush Tea

The Anaheim Chapter will be one of the units to hostess the convention which will be held at Disneyland Hotel.
Members and guests shared the pictures on experiences of Miss Ruth Kearns, as a teacher, this past summer in an Alaskan fishing village outside of Kodiak. “Alaska has always held an interest for many people of the United States, but now that she is a sister state, interest in this fascinating country has grown,” she stated.
Zion Fellowship Has Party, Potluck
The Zion Fellowship Club held a white elephant party and potluck supper in combination with their regular meeting with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nullmeyer and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Zobel serving as hosts.
Nullmeyer announced that the annual fish fry has been cancelled, and plans for the summer activities were made.

Chantilly Lace
David Breen escorted the bride to the altar. Her gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta was fashioned in ballerina length with scoop neckline, empire waist and three-quarter sleeves. A half-hat of matching lace edged with seed pearls held a floating veil of English silk illusion, and she carried baby orchids on a white-bound Bible.
Mrs. Grace Garnett of Costa Mesa was the bride’s only attendee. She wore a gown of yellow silk organza over taffeta, trimmed with white daisy embroidery and white headdress. She carried a bouquet of yellow and white carnations.
Stanley Hanson of Anaheim, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, served as bestman.
Reception Held
A reception was held in Harris’ Banquet Room where wedding gifts were opened and cake served by Mrs. Garnett and Mrs. Bob Nightingale, sister of the bridegroom.
The bridegroom’s mother attended the wedding wearing a blue dress with white accessories. The bride’s mother was unable to attend.
For a honeymoon trip the new Mrs. Goodrich later changed to a pale green Italian knit suit with white accessories.
