Schimmer, Whitney
Nuptial Rites Read
Tall white candles and baskets of white stock graced the altar of St. Luke's United Presbyterian Church, Garden Grove, when Miss Janet Catherine Schimmer became the bride of Harry G. Whitney Jr. in a double ring service at which the pastor, the Rev. Robert R. Anderson officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mr. Charles B. Schimmer, 2045 Dogwood Ave., Anaheim. Whitney is the son of the Harry G. Whitneys of 12612 Ninth St., Garden Grove.
Miss Schimmer, escorted to the altar by her father was gowned in a full - skirted white satin dress, with three - tiered embroidered nylon overskirt. Her short lace vel over tulle was held by a cap of seed pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of white carnations, stephanotis and lilies of the valley.
Sister as Bridesmaid
Her sister, Lonnie Schimmer, was her maid of honor, gowned in lavender lace over net, with lavender headpiece. She carried a pastel pink formal nosegay. Her naval Hospital. The wedding party was later entertained at a dinner at the Royal Hawaiian Restaurant, Anaheim.
The new Mrs. Whitney attended high school in Vallejo, and is affiliated with the Zeta Omega Tau, social sorority, and was graduated from Anaheim Union High.
The bridegroom attended Garden Grove High School, Orange Coast College, is a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity, Circle K. He also belongs to the Petroleum Pirates Club, and is employed by Continental Emisco Petroleum Supply Company of Ventura.
Both of the bridegroom's grandmothers were present at the wedding. They are Mr. Charles B. Whitney, of Tustin, and Mrs. Sula Abbott, of Garden Grove.
After a brief wedding trip, the newlyweds will be at home at 367 Franklin Lane, Ventura, Calif.

The Orange County chapter Desk and Derrick was entered by General Petroleum Corp.a tour aboard their oil tankina.

PTA Meeting To Feature Students' Art
Students, under the direct Charles Hopper, will give a tinuous demonstration of art auditorium during the Washington PTA meeting and school's open house on Thursday.
Miss Lucia Uppt, art cons for the Anaheim Elem School District, will be a guest for this occasion.
Sister as Bridesmaid
Her sister, Lonnie Schimmer, was her maid of honor, gowned in lavender lace over net, with lavender headpiece. She carried a pastel pink formal nosegay. Her two attendants were Miss Jackie Gaston of Costa Mesa, and Mrs. Richard McCrae of Fullerton, both wearing identical gowns of pastel pink crystaline over net, with embroidery of hearts, pastel pink velvet headpieces, and carrying lavender carnations.
Little Jeannie Renee Riley of Anaheim, the flower girl, was dressed in pink, carrying sweetpeas and orange blossoms in a decorated basket. Chris Clinard of Anaheim was the ring bearer.
Mrs. Ralph Dillman, of Tustin, was the organist; and Robert Campbell of Santa Ana, the soloist.
The bridegroom chose a college chum, John Mittrick, for his best man. Ushers were his brother, Ralph Whitney, and Richard McCrae of Fullerton.
Reception Held
After the ceremony a reception was held in the Social Hall of the church, which was beautifully decorated with Dutch iris, sweetpeas and stock, in pastel colors. A feature of the center table was the tiered wedding cake topped with miniature bride and bridegroom, above a swirling cascade of pink roses. An interesting note was that the beautiful lace tablecloth on the center table was first used at the wedding table of Mr. and Mrs. Harry G. Whitney, the bridegroom's parents.
For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Schimmer wore a floral print silk suit, in blue, with white accessories and a white orchid corage. Mr. Whitney, Sr., wore pink lace, with matching accessories. She also wore a white orchid corage. Linda Whitney, youngest sister of the bridegroom, also assisted in receiving at the reception, where Mrs. Charles Miller, of Garden Grove was in charge of the wedding cake and its serving, and Mr. Martin Carlson, of Taft, the bridegroom's aunt, hosted at the punch bowl, with Mrs. Bruce Weed of Garden Grove, assisting her.
The cake was cut by the couple with a sword belonging to the bride's father, who is a chief warrant officer at the Long Beach Petroleum Supply Company of Ventura.

The PTA meeting is set o'clock. The business meeting been shortened to allow ample time to visit the classrooms. They will see examples of the child accomplishments during the event.

AID CRIPPLED CHILDREN PROGRAM — Accepting a check toward construction of a swimming pool as part of the therapy program of the Society for Crippled Children and Adults of Orange County, is Frank V. Osteopathic Society is Mrs. Vance Tscha Anaheim, Mrs. Robert Zimmerman of Santa center, and Mrs. Mahlon L. McKay of Fulfill Many Orange County organizations along the Osteopathic medical auxiliary, are members of the Crippled Children's Program part of annual fund-raising projects.

They descended ladders into the very bottom of the ship's engine rooms and climbed more ladder up to the captain's quarters and the chart room and wheel house. They snooped in the galley and food storage rooms and learned that 14 pounds of food is allowed per man per day aboard the Colina.
Final stop of the evening was at Curries Santa Fe where, as guests of General Petroleum, they enjoyed an excellent steak dinner with all the trimmings. The hosts and guides from G.P. were Hugh Illis, Mrs. Emilie Haller, Captain M. Kiley, Eugene Hager and Charles Trotman.

Kappa Deltas Name Officers For New Year
Kappa Deltas, meeting at the home of Mrs. Lin R. Crawford, Santa Ana, elected officers for the next year. They are: President, Mrs. R. L. Bockmeyer of Garden Grove; Vice President, Mrs. David Balfour, Santa Ana; Secretary, Mrs. L. M. Buckler, Santa Ana; and Treasurer, Mrs. Arnold Gaynor, Anaheim. Mrs. Brockmeyer has asked Mrs. Donahue Krout, Fullerton to be files and membership chairman. Mrs. John D. Strahle, Santa Ana, will serve as the Alumnae Association editor for the Angeles, Kappa Deltas official publication. Mrs. David Starr installed the new leaders.
A contribution to the crippled Children's Hospital at Richmond, Virginia, the National philanthropy of Kappa Delta, was voted by the Orange County KDS. A report read showing a total of $7,775 having been contributed to Hospital by National Kappa Lions groups during 1958.
The next meeting was set Wednesday evening, May 6th at the home of Mrs. Theodore Johnson, Costa Mesa, which is to dessert bridge.
