OPEN FOR BUSINESS — The Timely Hardware Store, 1819 W. Orangethorpe, Fullerton, is now open for business under new management. The new owner, Paul Myers, recently took over the store which is one of the finest in the area. Complete with every item to be found in hardware, owner Myers, says his store can be of service to customers needing all types of merchandise in the latest hardware lines. Myers spent 22 years in Indiana in the hardware business before coming to California. He and his wife Betty purchased the Timely Hardware in January of this year. (Bulletin Photo) White House Order New DRUNK LIMIT White House Order New Tokyo Air Route Survey LOS ANGELES (PCNF) — California business and industrial interests are actively supporting President Eisenhower's order to the Civil Aeronautics Board for a re-survey of California-Japan route authorizations. The Chamber of Commerce is on record urging early approval of a great circle route from Los Angeles to Tokyo via San Francisco and Seattle. Such a "through" route without a change of planes would expedite heavy executive travel, and bring the two trade centers 700 miles closer together. Roughly 40 per cent of all Japanese-American trade passes through the Los Angeles customs district. Hilliard has been appointed Orange County area chairman of the annual Southern California Clean Up, Paint up, Fix Up campaign in May, it was announced yesterday by Wilbur S. Johnson, general chairman. The campaign, which is part of nationwide program designed to stimulate civic beautification and improvement, is sponsored by the Southern California Clean Up, Paint Up, Fix Up Committee and the Los Angeles Beautiful Committee of the Chamber of Commerce. Numerous local civic, service, cultural and youth groups are cooperating in the drive here as well as in the city of Los Angeles and 15 other areas. In addition to urging citizens participation in the Clean Up, Paint Up, Fix Up program, cooperating groups will undertake special projects during the month on behalf of deserving families and institutions. Local campaign leaders and civic officials will attend a kickoff luncheon at 12 noon next Tuesday at the Statler Hilton. More than 1,000 representatives of various participating organizations are expected to be in attendance to hear plans for the month-long drive. The Rev. Television Show to Highlight New Television Show to Highlight New Eastman Kodak Company and Walt Disney announced today that plans have been finalized for an hour and a half special telecast at Disneyland Park on Monday, June 15th. Production of the 90-minute spectacular, to be carried on the full ABC Network, will be personally supervised by Walt Disney and will feature the grand opening of six million dollars in new attractions, which are now under construction at Disneyland in Anaheim. The special program will also feature motion picture and television star personalities who will take part in the activities connected with the opening and dedication of the new Disneyland attractions. The live telecast will include motion picture footage, taken in advance, of the new attraction. They include a 14-story high rise of the Swiss Matterhorn Mountain complete with bootsled run down and around the steep slope eight submarines which will take passengers on an underwater journey beneath the Seven Seas; and the Disneyland-Alweg Monor System — the first practical system to be in continuous passenge... The program is scheduled for release from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in all time zones on June 15. Eastman has been associated with Disneyland Park since its opening in July of 1955, with an exhibit and camera store in the Park's "Main Street" area. Eastman was one of the first national companies to sign long-term lease agreements with Walt Disney and Disneyland prior to the Park's opening four years ago. Some tropical coconuts weigh 40 pounds apiece.
