Magnolia Manor and Estates News Dorothy Martin JAckson 7-1679 Ken Nielsen, Magnolia School District superintendent, reported today that two current applications by the district will be acted upon in Sacramento Aug. 10, for state aid. The applications for state aid were submitted by the district to facilitate the construction of two schools—one at Gilbert and Orange avenues and the second at northwest corner of Magnolia and Crescent avenues. The latter will consist of seven to eight classrooms and the application will be amended as the subdivision development expands to add approximately eight additional classrooms, two kindergarten rooms and a multi-purpose room. Plans are being drawn toward this goal. Magnolia School District has employed a new principal for Magnolia School No. 2 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Mrs. Clee Newsom. It was also reported that school registration will take place Sept. 1 at both Magnolia Schools Nos. 1 and 2.
