Sex and Horror on TV Ok'd by Noted Producer
HOLLYWOOD — Walt Disney will see his greatest dream fulfilled when he plays host to some 90,000,000 persons during tour of Disneyland on the 90-minute invitational preview television from Disneyland on Sunday, July 17.
Disneyland preview marks the dedication ceremonies of the 160-acre "magic kingdom" at Anaheim, California. During the ceremonies, Disney will escort the home viewers on a tour of the fabulous entertainment site which has been a dream to the creator of Mickey Mouse for more than 20 years.
In opening the hour-and-a-half program, the TV audience will see Disney arrive at the Disneyland railroad station, as engineer of one of the two shining green-and-yellow trains of the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad. With him in the engine cab will be Governor Goodwin Knight of California.
Disney will meet master-of-ceremonies Art Linkletter, who is to arrive at Disneyland helicopter and then together they will take the audience from the Town Square, along Main Street, to the Plaza. This is a central area from which visitors can see the entrances to four of the entertainment realms — Tomorrowland, Fantasyland Adventureland and Frontierland.
During the program, Disc will be joined by an array of stars, including Irene Dunn Danny Thomas and Jean Hagen. Several other master-of-ceremonies will be featured in this show besides Linkletter.

DANSON ON AIR ... Jack Webb is quite hopeful of doing "Pete Kelly's Blues" on NBC-TV after the picture run. Most people seem to have forgotten that the show originated on a smaller scale as a 13-week summer replacement showcase item on NBC radio in 1949. The option, however, was never picked up, thus making it a "dud" on radio ... Mark down another picture discovery via the TV route. Lovely Connie Towers, featured vocallovely on the Jack Carson shows, stars in her first Columbia pic, with Frankie Laine as co-star. The brass at Columbia have high hopes for this gal... NBC's TV remote truck, home-based in Hollywood, covered some 2000 miles to telecast the Roy Rodgers Rodeo in San Antonio Texas, and the Tijuana, Mexico cut-in for the "Wide Wide World" production. The Tijuana pick-up featured Mexico's famed clown, Cantinflas, and all the attendant excitement of a Mexican festival.

What's something I can underd. What you reckon happened friend Wharton, anyway?
Oh, Jennings and Flint toted back to the hotel an' tucked in bed, I reckon. That's what ol man pays 'em for. The ol' he explained, "is a big cat, an, brings a big herd into a twice a year. Matter o' fact, work for him. That is," he added tentatively. "I did. Don't reckon any more."

The cell door clanged open. "All right. Your fine's been paid. You can clear outa my jail. An' for Lord's sake, Rusty, try to stay out this time."
"Who shucked out for us?"
"You'll find out," the jailler grinned. "She's waitin' for you outside."
"She" turned out to be Margie, who returned Rusty's warm hug and brushed Kerry's thanks aside. "Any friend of Rusty's is apt to need bailing out frequent. Sure, you'll pay me back when you get a job. Rusty always does. I keep the money in a special stocking, ready for the next time."
"Come on," Rusty interrupted. "I need a steak two inches thick an' a drink!"
"Come to my place," Margie urged. "I can cook you a better steak than you'd get in a restaurant—and I baked a cake this morning."
"Awright, honey. You furnish the steak, I'll furnish the drink—maybe," Rusty added. "You got any money, Kerry?"
Kerry reached into his pocket, and groaned. "Good Lord! After all that fracas, and getting slugged over the head, we didn't even get to cash in!"
"Never mind," Rusty soothed him. "We'll collect from Lon Calder tonight—an' I got enough for a bottle."
Margie led them to a small white house on a quiet street. The chintz-covered furniture, the braided rag rugs, the red geraniums on the window-sill, stirred long-sleeping memories in Kerry. His mother's parlor back in Virginia had looked like this.
Rusty, with the familiarity of a regular visitor, went out to the kitchen to get glasses for the drinks.
"This is the kind of house I was raised in," Margie said abruptly. "My folks died. I had to make a living—and singing in the Longhorn beats waiting on tables—some ways."
"I reckon," Kerry agreed. "But not what you really want, is it?"
Her smile was whimsical, rueful and resigned all at once. "What I really want—is what most every woman wants. A man coming home to dinner every night, and a houseful of kids." She shrugged again. "Can you see Rusty in a picture like that?"
Rusty cam back with the drinks then, and there was no more serious talk. Margie announced it was time for her to get to work. Rusty came cheerfully to his feet. "Let's go, honey."
"Why don't you stay here and take it easy? You must both be tired after last night, and I'm sure Kerry's head hurts."
"Kerry can stay here if he wants," Rusty conceded. "Me, I got business to send to. I got to see Lon Calder. That long, slick son-of-a-gun owes me money."
"I'll collect for you," Margie promised. "He'll give it to me if I ask him—"
"I reckon he would. I'll do my own collectin', thanks. Say, honey, why you so anxious to keep me away from the Longhorn?"
"It'S Wharton," Margie admitted. "He's awful sore about last night. There was talk downtown that he was swearing to get even with you when you came out of jail."
"I ain't lookin' for trouble," Rusty's drawl was mild, "but I ain't lettin' old man Wharton's little boy keep me housebound."
"Look—why not just give him tonight to cool down?"
"Don't you worry 'bout me, honey. I can take care o'myself."
"Sure—like you did last night. Well, 6x us a drink before we start."
She took advantage of his absence to tell Kerry in a swift whisper, "That Wharton's a mean one—so are those two watch-dogs of his, Jennings and Flint. They killed a man here in Dodge last year—ganged up on him in an alley. His old man hushed it up, but everybody knew—Keep an eye on him, will you, Kerry?"
"Sure, Margie. I'll do the best I can."
