RESPONSIBILITY
"EVERY CHILD HAS THE RIGHT TO BE WELL BORN." — Ruskin
When Ruskin made the above statement, he spoke volumes. Every child has the right to be well born—in the sense of heredity; in the sense of adequate provision for his reception into the world.
The new-born infant is an object of pride, happiness and concern on the part of parents, if the father has insisted on his wife being under the physician's care during the prenatal period, if he has provided means for delivery at the hospital, where every safety precaution is at hand, and embarrassments avoided; if he has bequeathed the baby a clean bill of health.
It costs no more to KNOW things are progressing naturally, and every prospective father should insist on his wife being under the physician's care. Modern obstetrical knowledge and aseptic methods almost work miracles and the mortality rate of hospital-delivered obstetrical cases is disappearing to the vanishing point.

No Relief Seen for High Coffee Prices
SAN FRANCISCO (UP) — The San Francisco office of the Brazilian Coffee Institute says coffee prices are likely to stay at the present high, or go higher, despite a June surplus of 2,700,000 bags.
An institute spokesman said the extra coffee in Brazilian warehouses resulted from a "minor decline" in exports to the United States, but normal exports after the first of July will absorb this carry over.
Even with the carry over, the coffeemah said, the amount of Brazilian coffee available during 1954-55 may be less than last year.
"No change in the minimum export price of 89 cents per pound is anticipated and there is a likelihood of a possible increase because the demand is greater than production," he said.
