Of particular significance to such a state as California, where the establishment of new industries and businesses has been markedly at a faster pace than elsewhere in the nation, the chart above shows how an area community can expect increased activity and improvements from a factory with 150 employees. Take It Easy!” is the slogan of organized safety groups throughout California in their campaign during the month of June to lessen the fatality and accident toll. June is the month when most motorists take their first long motor trip of the year. Mid-June, school is recessed, and vacations make this a peak travel time with millions of automobiles on our highways. With the eagerness of anticipated pleasure, motorists everywhere take off for the hills and valleys, ocean shore, lakes and streams. Some of these, unfortunately, will become involved in accidents. Misuse of speed causes accidents and the faster the speed at the time of collision, the more severe the damage, and, too, your chances of survival diminish in accidents that incorporate the use of high speeds. In order to keep speed within moderate limits, the National Safety Council, the California Association of Insurance Agents, the California Highway Patrol and National Automobile Club motorists to conform to state local ordinances and to drive a speed that is reasonable and pleasant, taking into consideration visibility, condition of the highway, condition of the car, traction and proximity of school and children’s play areas.
