Part-Time Pathologist Protests Dismissal SANTA ANA, (OCNS) — Dr. John Montanus, part-time pathologist in Orange County General Hospital since 1933. Tuesday afternoon asked the Board of Supervisors to reconsider its move to hire another man to full-time duty. He contended a "great injustice" will be done by naming another man to a $1000-a-month job. Montanus' salary was $420 as a part-timer. He was due to jump to $440 a month under a new pay scale. Montanus pointed out that he informed the board in January that the Pathologist post should be made full time. He said he was willing to take the task. He claimed he was notified last Friday he was no longer beheaded. Dismissal action by Hospital Director R. D. Powell has caused resentment among hospital staff members, Montanus claimed. Supervisors took Montanus' plea under submission who announced his resignation several weeks ago. The appointment, it was learned, will be confirmed tonight by the hospital's board of directors and will become effective Aug. 1. Dr. Taber, radiologist at Community, the last six years, plans to return with his family of Maryland, where he will go into private practice. Walk resides in the La Palma Ranchos section with his wife Katherine and daughter Christine. Both officers have been greatly impressed with our Southland. Our soil, beautiful homes, roads and transportation facilities and manufacturing capabilities astonish them, and the fact that you visit the beach in the morning and enjoy snow sports in the mountains that afternoon is a source wonder and amazement. The sight of two ladies walking down the street, one in shorts and the other in a fur coat also brought much comment. Upon completion of their visit they will return to Washing-onia via other installations previous-scheduled and then on to their live land late in the fall.
