Their school year’s end “overnight” trip to O’Neill park had as its high-point an eight mile morning hike. Accompanying leaders were Mrs. Muroaka and Mrs. Hutchens. Benjamin Franklin Nineteen members of Troop 28 fifth grade at Benjamin Franklin, camped in O’Neill Park. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Herb Leo, Mr. and Mrs. James Dilly, Mr. and Mrs. George Rose, and Mrs. John Kerns, Mrs. Leo and Mrs. Dilly are leaders. During the week-end plans were made for a pot luck supper to be held in city park. The occasion was planned as a get-together for the girls and their families and the presentation of second class Badges. About Fremont Girls Fremont’s seventh grade Troop 54 visited Camp Koolibah. A brisk train in the early morning dampened the girls' hair but not their spirits. On the menu was Mock Angel cake. Mrs. Murdoch and Mrs. Wayne Ruppert directed operations. Their formal frocks were styled similar to the attendant's gowns and their white flower baskets were filled with rose buds. Attending his brother as best man was Edward E. Winger with another brother, Jack Winger and Ira L. Webber, and Ronald Kay, Maynard Grunklee, a cousin from Orange, as ushers. Nuptial songs were sung by John Kringen of Santa Ana. They were "Because," "Lord's Prayer" and "A Wedding Prayer." Accompanist was Mrs. Kempin. Attending to the guest book was Mrs. Irene Williams with Miss May Young attending to gifts. MARQUETTE GRADUATE — James A. Larson, 724 North Clementine, son of Dr. and Mrs. John Larson, will be a candidate for the degree of bachelor of science from Marquette University in Milwaukee. Wis., during Marquette's 1954 commencement ceremonies. The Marquette commencement exercises will be held in the Milwaukee Arena at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, with the Rev. Daniel A. Lord, S. J., St. Louis, Mo., famed Jesuit lecturer, author and editor as the principal speaker. Slate Summer Class In Mental Hygiene Included in University of California Extension's program of summer adult education classes is a Long Beach course in mental hygiene which opens Tuesday, June 22 at 4 p.m. in room 205 of John Dewey School. The class, to include 15 meetings on Tuesday and Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. More About Bride A bride is well known in Anaparticularly at Anaheim High where she graduated with class of 1953. The white orchid from her bridal flowers was pinned to her jacket lapel. As she left she told her plans to continue her work at the Savings and Loan Association of Anaheim. Her bridegroom, also a graduate from Anaheim High School, class of 1952, is presently engaged in construction work. At AUHB he was active in athletics and played on the varsity football team. Frances Plou to Wed James Huntsman of Santa Monica Engagement of Miss Frances Plou to James Huntsman of Santa Monica was told Sunday afternoon at a one o'clock luncheon when Mrs. Louise Plou, mother of the bride-elect entertained in home town.
