YOUR CROSS WORD PUZZLE
HOW TO SOLVE THE CROSS WORD PUZZLE
The way to solve the Cross Word Puzzle is to fill in the white squares of the diagram with the words which agree with the accompanying definitions. The definitions are numbered to correspond with the numbers on the diagram.
Any word defined in the text under "HORIZONTAL" will begin at its number, shown on the diagram, and will extend all the way across to the first black space to the right of that number. That is, the word must begin in the square that contains its identifying number, and extend as far as the white squares continue uninterruptedly.
Any word defined under "VERTICAL" will also begin in the white space that contains its number, but will extend downward as far as the white spaces remain uninterruptedly.

TROUT LARGER THAN EVER
Fishing for steelhead trout in the mouth of the Ventura river is affording extreme sport to anglers, according to reports reaching Los Angeles. One day recently 30 fine fish were caught measuring from 26 to 31 inches. On the following day 18 were pulled out, all of large size. According to pictorial authorities, the steelhead are running larger this season than ever before in the memory of anglers.

Hodges' contact with labor been from a variety of angles.
In Jah., 1924, when Ham MacDonald, leader of the Parliamentary Labor party of England became prime minister he offered Hodges, who was then president of the Miners' Union, one of most important jobs in the British navy. Whereupon he signed his union job and became a cabinet member.

British labor will doubtless to it that he does not long main in the role of collier.

AVOCADO ACRES
IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY
Two years ago before Lake Hodges water was available, in my search for available avocado land in San Diego County, I located and planned AVOCADO ACRES in the San Dieguito water district. My ten year' active experience in the propagation of Avocado nurseries and Avocado orchards has convinced me that the Avocado thrives best in a warm soil, moist air and warm climate, free from frosts. These conditions are more uniformly met in the coastal regions of San Diego county, than in any other locality in Southern California. AVOCADO ACRES are platted, approved, recorded and are now available for planting. The Avocado industry bids fair to ontivival for profitable returns any other horticultural activity in Southern California. My advice and literature on AVOCADO CULTURE will be cheerfully given to any prospective purchaser of the land.
