TWO TABLEAUX BY DELPHIANS FOR XMAS TREE
REHEARSAL of the part which Delphian members will have in the Community Christmas tree program were completed at the meeting of the participants Thursday, with Mrs. H. N. White in charge of the arrangements.
Under direction of Miss Claire Contant, two tableaux will be shown the first, the angel pointing to the star in the east and the shepherds falling prostrate in worship. The second delineates the scene of the babe in the manager and the three wise men.
A double mixed chorus will sing during the tableaux and between numbers. Colored lights will enhance the effect. Costumes are being provided by Mme. LaRue, of Balboa, who has given her personal supervision in the selection and been of unlimited assistance to Mrs. White.
Other numbers of the entertainment are being arranged, to be announced on the whole next week. The American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring the tree this year and committees have outlined details pointing to the best community affair ever held. The program will begin promptly at 6:30 and each child under 12 will receive a gift from the tree later in the evening.

SENDS NEWS OF APPROACHING HAPPY EVENT
MR. and Mrs. J. W. Kohlenberger have received a letter from their son, Frederick William, Chicago, telling of his coming marriage on Christmas day to Miss Lydia Pilchert, also of Chicago.
Mr. Kohlenberger is an Anaheim boy, a graduate of the local high school, an ardent worker and teacher in the Presbyterian Sunday School here and attended Occidental colledge. He is now in his final year of training in Wesleyan university, Evanston, in the medical college, from which he will graduate next June.
It had been the intention of the young couple to be wed late next spring, but plans were changed and they hurriedly informed the devoted parents here of their intention.
Miss Pilchert is engaged in missionary work in Chicago, principally among young mothers and babies and is a young woman of special ability. It is not probable they will visit in California before late next summer. Mr. Kohlenberger's last visit home was last June at the time of this sister's marriage.
Press Club Xmas Affair
Although activities of the Christmas season and pre-holiday visitors interfered with the usual attendance at the Press club meeting last evening, the fun was unabated and everyone went home with a Christmas gift.
Mrs. Harriet K. Boyd, opening her home through the inability of Mrs. Ada King Wallis to entertain at this particular time, was her usual gracious self and through the work of her son, Jimmie, the home was tastily trimmed in compliment to the season. Even a twinkling little Christmas tree graced the center of the dining table and red and green and tinsel brightened up the rooms beautifully.
After some time devoted to fancy work, games claimed attention. A long distance telephone message was received from a member unavoidably absent.
Later each guest was presented with a number and told to find an article about the room with a corresponding number, and claim it for her own. In this manner every one was pleasantly remembered by Santa Claus.
Light refreshment was served and the ladies said goodbye with a feeling of pleasure that they are permitted to meet together so informally and so happily each few weeks.

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH PLACENTIA
G. A. Manshardt, Pastor Christmas services will be held next Sunday. In the morning the Christmas sermon will be preached by the pastor, to the subject, "What Christmas means to the world." Special musical numbers will be rendered by the choir.
In the evening the young people will give a pageant entitled, "The Nativity." About 20 young people will take part. They will present the story of the birth of Christ. The costuming will be oriental, and the setting in keeping with the place of his birth. Musical numbers will be rendered between the different scenes. This promises to be a fine presentation of the story of the birth of Christ. Mrs. Herbert Sullivan directed the pageant, Mrs. C. P. Smith is the pianist, and Mrs. Estella Walker the soloist.
The Sunday school will meet at the usual hour of 9:45, but there will be no meeting of the Christian Endeavor on account of the pageant in which many of the young people take part.
The Presbyterian Bible class will study "God's Greatest Gift to the World," next Sunday. A cordial invitation is given to all of these services.
