BREA, Dec. 18.—Miss Lanora Underwood of Brea, who will become the bride of Mr. Jean Aroues in the near future, was the guest of honor at a party and shower last Saturday afternoon, given by Miss Esther Morris at the home of her mother, Mrs. C. W. Morris of Yorba Linda. The gifts were placed in a large umbrella, suggestive of showers, although of a different nature and beautifully decorated with pink and blue, crepe paper. The honoree received many lovely and useful presents. Interesting games were played and dainty refreshments of sandwiches, cocoa and cake served by Mrs. Morris. Those attending the affair following; Mrs. Bessett Mrs. Wooley, Mrs. McDonald, Mrs. Lindsey, Mrs. Fay Smith, Mrs. Robert Goodwin, Mrs. J. T. Kimber, Miss Edna Mae Kimber, Mrs. Ralph Clark, Miss Katheryn Arouses, Miss Winnie Mae Hardy, Miss Gladys Lentweller, Miss Salile Kinsman and the hostess and honoree.
Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Imbler of the Hale lease entertained Mr. Grant W. Berry of Rukesville, Missouri, the past week.
Mrs. H. Heartfield of Santa Ana attended the bazaar and chicken supper at the Christian church Thursday.
Mrs. Bessie Salveson of South Madrona avenue, entertained Mrs. Josephine Ackerman of Anaheim Thursday.

The Camp Fire Girls met last Friday, to make Christmas toys.

The members of the Lions Club were greatly surprised Friday at their weekly meeting when they arrived and found their wires already seated in their places. The men had to take their plates and get their own lunch. The program was in charge of the women, with Mrs. A. J. Severson acting as chairman.
Mrs. R. W. Sammons of 109 S. Madrona-ave., entertained her brother, Mr. W. O. Batson and sons Paul and Hobart of Rivera at a chicken dinner on last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Chambers were in Anaheim on business last Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Cone have just received word from their son Arthur Cone of Colingo, of the death of their little son Junior.
The cause of his death has not been learned yet. Their many friends will be sorry to hear the sad news.

Word has just been received from Mr. and Mrs.L.H.Caundid wood, who left Brea the 21st November for an auto trip in northern part of the state they will leave Seattle Tuesday Brea.
While there they have visited Mrs.Caunderwood's father Mr.Cark Dutton and many other relatives and friends.
