EGYPT ACCEPTS BRITISH DEMANDS LONDON, Dec. 1. — Egypt has formally accepted Great Britain's demands and is carrying them out peacefully, the foreign office announced today. CAIRO, Egypt, Dec. 1. — Lord Allenby, British high commissioner in Egypt, was confident today that the quiet which lay over the country would continue. The negotiations being the British and the new Egyptian government, headed by Premier Ahmed Ziwar Pasha, were proceeding smoothly, he said, and the British occupation of the Sudan was established with reinforcements steadily moving into the territory. The natives vanished. BUENA PARK BUENA PARK, Dec. 1. (Spl.) — Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Tilton enjoyed a holiday vacation from the drug store at the home of Mrs. Tilton's sister, Mrs. Nagle of Los Angeles. Erwin Janke of Alhambra and M.Buhwald of Los Angeles LORENE DYER WEDS SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 1. — Friends of Miss Lorene Dyer, daughter of J. H. Dyer, general manager of the So. Pac. railroad, were greatly surprised today to learn thru announcements received yesterday of her marriage a day or two ago to Captain Kenneth Gunn, U. S. A., at an impromptu military wedding ceremony in Columbus, Ga., near Fort Benning, where Captain Gunn is now stationed. The wedding had been scheduled to take place in San Francisco during the Christmas holidays. Mrs. Dyer, mother of the bride, was present at the ceremony. CYPRESS Cypress, Dec. 1. — Edward Peterson of Long Beach who had to have his leg amputated at the knee as the result of an accident at the Cypress oil well, is resting easily and doing as well as can be expected at the Anaheim Sanitarium. The regular Thanksgiving day dinner at the Beazly home was held in the form of a birthday surprise party for Ray Beazly. Two lovely birthday cakes supplemented the Thanksgiving turkey. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Beazly and son Alfred of Fullerton, Mrs. A. Moss, Long Beach, Dr. and Mrs. Clinton Burroughs and two children and Herbert of Glendale, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Beazly and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Beazly Cypress. Mrs. R. Wilkins and Blanche Cawthon motored to Coachella Friday to get Mr. Wilkins, returning the same day. Thanksgiving was celebrated in the usual day at the home of Mrs. E. H. Day. Those enjoying the dinner were Mrs. M. E., Baker of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. H. Morrison and two daughters of Santa Ana, Mrs. Cora Jordan of Venice, ex-Senator and Mrs. H. E. Carter of Wilmington and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Day and baby of Torrance. An eight pound baby girl was born to Mrs. Roy Carlisse of Buena Park Thursday at Cypress Emergency Hospital. Mother and baby are doing splendidly. PACKERS WATCHING NAVEL MARRIAGE Local packing house maize watching the navel closely this week to deter whether shipment of holiday will be worth while. At low levels, owing largely to the shipment from Tuareg and Florida, it wouldn't pay too much holiday shipment how don't amount to much-10 cars covering the entire area from Northern Orange-coast. The Missionary society held a postponed meeting Friday afternoon at the Community hall with Mrs. H. S. Horn as hostess. Mrs. J. H. Page and daughter Helen were Fullerton and Anahel mishoppers Saturday. A spur track from the Southern Pacific to the cement mixer of the Steele Finley Company is completed and the work of paving Grand-ave which, when completed will be one of the finest paved roads in California. Mr. Everette Smith is building a new house in the Homewood tract. Miss Blanche Whitezell was the guest of her sister Mrs. Chas Hillman of Los Angeles Thursday. Miss Eleanor Warren is home for the holidays from the Normal school at Santa Barbara. Mrs. A. A. Reed had as her guest this last week, her sister, Mrs. Flashman of Fallbrook. S. coast guard cutter Arcata was floated at 10 a.m. today after being on the rocks at Parker reef in the San Juan islands for 48 hours, according to a wireless received by the coast guard service here from the cutter Snohomish, which had been standing by the stranded vessel. The Arcata went aground Saturday in a heavy fog. A hole was torn in the vessel's side, but the damage is believed to have not been serious. None of the members of the crew were injured. At present, owing largely to the heavy shipment from Tuare and from Florida, it wouldn't pay to ship. These holiday shipments anyw don’t amount to much—often cars covering the entire amount from Northern Orange-co. Fulare-co is shipping the bulk of the fruit now from California. Last week 1585 cars were moved from California, all but 56 out-of So. Calif. A year ago 1447 cars were moved at the correspond-date. Florida shipped 975 tons of oranges and 834 of grape-It. The latter has been waging a campaign to confine shipments to larger sizes in order to bring up prices. Its percentage of small sizes is abnormal. There is a good demand for California lemons. WO CARS SMASHED Two cars were banged up, but body was hurt, in a collision yesterday between a Cleveland ring car belonging to Thomas Roth of Booth & Barton and ard coupe of A. R.
