CAR AT CURB HIT
A Chevrolet touring car belonging to Dr. C. S. Lehakering of San Pedro, parked on W. Center-st. in front of the Hotel Pleasant, was run into last night by an unknown driver and considerably damaged. The physician and other occupants didn't go back to the car until this morning. The car had been thrown part way upon the sidewalk. Nobody was injured.
The gas tank, rear fender and parts of the body were damaged.
NO PROGRESS IN HUNT FOR SLAYER
With no new clues in the hands of sheriff's deputies at Santa Ana, search for the unknown slayer of Archie L. Haverstick of Los Angeles, whose body was found a week ago on Serra Beach, was showing slow progress today. Determining that Haverstick took out a platon on a trip he is supposed to have made to Tia Juha, presumably with a sailor and a girl, the officers are questioning service station and garage men along the state highway, in an envoror to trace the car's movement. It also was hoped to get more definite description of the vehicle with whom Haverstick was traveling.
