Center Street Anaheim, Calif. CYPRESS WANTS FIRE PROTECTION Cypress C. of G. held a peppy meeting in the Gramnzar school and discussed several topics of paramount interest to that community. Incorporation of cities of the sixth class was given some attention, but soon gave way to the matter of locating University of California, Southern Branch, in Orange co. One speaker, in mentioning a plot of land in Riverside co which has been offered for a site, said, "it is too hot in River side for the boys and girls to study well." Another matter is creation of a public recreation spot as Orange co park is entirely too much crowded when two or three organizations choose the same day for an outing. A site on the Irvine ranch offered a flattering location with convenient terms of purchase. Fire fighting apparatus for Cypress was a popular topic and the fire chief of Buena Park told of their equipment, which is altogether chemicals. The proposed highway along the P. E. tracks, affording an outlet to the harbor claimed concerted interest. A representative from the Southern California Edison Co. was present to tell of the activities of its company and quoted pages of figures. A musical program diversified the talks after which all joined in a short informal hour of visiting. G: & L: LEASE G. AND L.
