ZITHER CLUB TO BE AT UNITED THEATRE
The management of the United theatre announces a big special treat to the music lovers of Anaheim Thursday night when the Tyrolian Zither and Yodeling club of Los Angeles, consisting of nine people, will be featured at this popular playhouse in "A Night in the Alps."
The Tyrolian Zither club needs no introduction to the radio fans as the club has been heard on several occasions. They are coming here direct from an engagement at the Raymond hotel of Pasadena, where they have been giving daily concerts. They will present a splendid program, consisting of zither music, wh en is the sweetest of music, and singing by the only male yodeling quartet on the Pacific coast. The concert will be given in conjunction with a well balanced program of pictures.
This will also be a series of popular concerts to be given at the United theatre this fall and winter. Manager has secured the booking of some big concert numbers that will be announced later.
PLAN RECEPTION FOR SHENANDOAH
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 29 — A committee of army, navy and C. of C. officials will meet today on North Island and work out final arrangements for the reception here Oct. 10 of the U. S. navy dirigible Shenandoah, it was announced by Capt. T. T. Craven, commander of the naval air station.
"The Shenandoah will probably arrive after sunset on Friday night Oct. 10." Cantin Craven
"Wine," which opened a three-day engagement at the United theatre last night, is a starling portrayal of conditions consequent upon violations in society of the prohibition law.
"Wine" on the whole is a portrayal of the wild life that the men and women of wealth and social position indulge in while seeking pleasure and stimulation thrue the assistance of the bootlegger and of those places of public assemblage where the prohibition law is afforded little reverence.
The leading characters are the three members of the aristocratic Warriner family, father, mother and daughter, the admirers and the king of the bootlegger, with whom Warriner becomes associated in order to prevent poverty consequent upon a business failure.
The insidious effect of the night life and indulgence in illicit liquor on this formally aristocratic, clean living family and on those with whom they associate, is emphasized in a striking manner. Finally there comes retribution in the guise of a daughter's degradation, a mother's health and a father's imprisonment.
"Wine" has a case of unusual magnitude, the featured players being Clara Bow, Forrest Stanley, Huntley Gordon, Myrtle Stedman, Walter Long, Robert Agnew and Leo White. The production was made on an elaborate scale, with several spectacular cafe scenes and a thrilling raid by prohibition officers.

Occupation by federal authorities
today of the famous Indian Gardens on Bright Angel Trail, descending from Grand Canyon rim to the Colorado river, was believed to mark the beginning of the end in contempt proceedings against Senator Ralph H. Cameron and his associates.
Cameron, cited to appear tomorrow to show cause why he should not be punished for contempt of court in disobeying a court order that the Indian Gardens be vacated by its occupants is expected to be dismissed without penalty, following the vacating of the trail and its occupation by employees of the National Park Service.
Harold Baxier, special assistant attorney general of the United States, who arrived in Flagstaff today, said that he intended to ask dismissal of the contempt proceedings, providing the Indian Gardens were occupied completely by the government's representatives.
Dismissal of the case against Cameron will end a court fight which started in March, 1917.
