SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 1924 CHURCH PLANS GREAT PROGRAM Continued from page one important question to be answered by the church. Therefore, it does not hesitate to announce the Bible terms of salvation even though to do so might prevent some good people from uniting who think some other way will do as well. They are as follows: 1. A person must believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the Living God. John 3:16 says: "God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." Jesus says: "He that believeth on the Son hath Life but he that believeth not the Son hath not life but the wrath of God abideth on Him." John 3:36 1. A person must repent of his sins. For we read in Acts 3:19, "Bepent ye therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out," and also the words of Jesus: "Except ye repent ye shall all in like manner perish." 3. A person to be saved must confess before men his belief in Jesus as the Christ, the son of the living God. Matt. 10:32. "Whosoever shall confess me before men I will confess before my father and the Holy Angels, but whosoever shall deny me before men shall be denied before the Father and his angels." Also in Romans 10:19 we read: Edifice Shows Rare Workmanship Mr. George E. Trout was the general contractor for the new First Christian church building of Anaheim, and has certainly shown by the work in every department that he is a most capable man. To pass through the building one will say that the workmanship is of the very nicest in every line. Before coming to Anaheim Mr. Trout resided in Canyon City, Colo., where he built two very handsome churches, two fine school buildings, a number of large business blocks, including bank buildings, not only in Canyon City, but in Florence, Colo. Mr. Trout has been a resident of Anaheim for the past two years, and during that time has built several very nice residences. He should feel proud to have this edifice stand as a monument to his building ability. any of God's teaching but try to stress the entire Word of God as true and Faithful and worthy of all acceptance Its Two-Fold Message The people known as Christians only therefore have a two-fold message. The first message, a message to the world that they surrender to the teachings of the New Testament and be saved. We say that the New Testament is the Will of God for Christians. In this we do not in any way discredit the Old Testament. ARCHITECT PROUD OF CHURCH PLAN W. P. Shepherd, of Passa dena, the architect, has shown his ability and skill in the arrangement of the new Christian church from a point of efficiency, and in using every inch of space to best advantage. It is, without doubt, the best arranged church in Southern California today, and Mr. Shepherd feels very proud that he can point to the building as having been its architecture. He was also architect for the Anaheim Citrus Fruit Ass'n Building and Anaheim Orange and Lemon house. ESPECIALLY FINE IS CEMENT WORK All the concrete and cement work for the new Christian church was done by South Franzen Co., general contractors and builders, with offices located at 205 Fisher Building, Anaheim. All their workmanship is of the highest type and they feel exceptionally proud of the part they have played in the grand success as a whole. This firm is one of the large contracting companies of Anaheim, although of this particular structure they had but the concrete and cement work. Several of the finer buildings in Anaheim are examples of their capability contracting and perfect execution. 3. A person to be saved must confess before men his belief in Jesus as the Christ, the son of the living God. Matt. 10:32. "Whosoever shall confess before men I will confess before my father and the Holy Angels, but whosoever shall deny me before men shall be denied before the Father and his angels." Also in Romans 10:9-10 we read: "With the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation so then if thou confess with thy lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in thy heart that God hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved." 4. A person must be baptised into Christ. Jesus says: (Mark 16:15-16), "He that believeth and is baptised shall be baptised." (Acts 2:38), "Repent ye and be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." 5. A person must live a Godly life. Here the entire Bible can be quoted in proof. The Bible is the one book that does not compromise with the desires of man in order to make it a popular book. It is indeed the most popularook in the world and yet it condemns man in his sins and promises nothing but condemnation to all who will not live in harmony with its teachings. In the above analyses we do not lay too much stress upon Its Two-Fold Message The people known as Christians only therefore have a two-fold message. The first message, a message to the world that they surrender to the teachings of the New Testament and be saved. We say that the New Testament is the Will of God for Christians. In this we do not in any way discredit the Old Testament, which contained the Will of God for God's people in the days that are past and is, therefore, inspired as is the New Testament. But that the New Testament sealed as it is by the Blood of Christ is the foundation of Christianity and is, therefore binding upon God's people now as the Old Testament was then binding upon His people. The second message that we have is a message for the church. That message is stated clearly in the first and third chapters of First Corinthians as well as in the seventeenth chapter of John's Gospel. That message is the message of Christian Unity. God's people must unite, we believe, if the world is to be won to the savior. Our best efforts are being placed along the lines of persuading the various kinds of Christians to become Christians only. The Christian church will be found foremost in any real effort looking toward Christian Unity. Love the Supreme Spirit Love for all mankind is its dominant note. It is alwaysduce results.
