Christian Church Will Be Dedicated September 14
By REV. LEON MYERS
The members of the Christian church are looking forward with joy to the fact that they only have three more Sundays intervening between their servitude in the tabernacle to the entrance upon the larger responsibilities in their beautiful temple of worship on Broadway. Little short of marvellous has been the leading of the Lord in the battles they have fought under the leadership of their minister and the victories that have been won in the cause of Christ.
The dedication day has been set for Sept. 14th. The services of the master dedicator, Geo. N. Spireley, have been secured. Geo. Spireley dedicates churches for all denominations when his services are required but his greatest work has been among the Christian churches. He is a pastor of ceremonies and the high spiritual tone of his work leaves the church with a new realization of opportunities for service to the community. He ardently believes that a church should be of real service to humanity and points the way in that direction in a lasting fashion.
There will be three services during the day and at one of these services a senator of prominence will deliver an address. His name will be given later. Large crowds will be present in Anaheim to do so not to the cause of Christ that day. Such a day as will brown day. Such a day as will crown promote righteousness with a glorious triumph which will be prophetic of a great future for all future christian efforts in this county.
In the morning there will be one of the greatest overflow services for young people over held. A program of entertainment and worship is being prepared under expert leadership. The place for this service will be announced later. In the evening overflow services will be held to care for the people who may not be able to obtain seats in the new church. Many surprising features will mark the days' program that will shake the steepest protestant in the city into a realization that a deep and well founded christian movement has in a firm and timely unchain fashion hardened up upon the city of Anaheim. The Congregational minister of Brea told the minister that he thought his church would attend the derication at that time.
In expressing the hope that other churches will do the same, especially in Anaheim, the expression is based upon a willingness on our part to do the same thing whom any church of the city makes a similar call.
In the afternoon will be a memorial service with the Lord's Supporter as the central feature. A communion of Saints of all churches breathing forth a beautiful spirit of unity is what is hoped for at that time. A great evangelistic service with a dedication service at the close will feature the evening. We hope it put the cause of Christianity forward years in a day on Sept. 14th. Then following this day will begin a movement that will crowd to the doors every service of every worthy church in Orange-co.
RETURNS FROM LONG AUTOMOBILE TRIP
Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Neff, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sidebottom of Anaheim, and Mr. Sidebottom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Sidebottom of Ohio returned this week from a month's automobile tour, visiting all the principal cities on the Pacific coast as far north as Vancouver, D.C., going via the coast and beautiful redwood highways. They also took in the sights at Ranier National Park, the Columbia highway as far as The Dalles, Crater Lake, Shasta Springs, Lake Tahee; from there via Tloga Pass, said to be the highest highway pass in the U.S., into Yosemite valley and home in Inland route.
They report delightful weather throughout, no rain except a light shower one night at Tacona, and no excessive heat except one day.

BARBECUE AT TRACT OPENING
Formally opening a huge piece of land to the public, the San Juan Point corporation today announced plans to hold a barbecue and day of celebration at Dana Point next Saturday.
A company statement follows:
"The present plans for the improvement of this tract are completed. Dana point will offer Southern California one of the largest and most exclusive residential and rest resorts on the coast."
"Negotiations have been completed for two 18-hole golf courses, tennis courts, polo ground, yacht pavilion, a 50-room hotel, bathing pavilion, plunge, baseball diamond, and every other convenience which is to be found in a modern city pleasure enterprise."
Dana point is a historic spot in Southern California. It is located seven miles from Laguna Beach on the new coast boulevard, one mile from the state highway connecting Los Angeles and San Diego, and one mile from the historic Mission San Juan Capistrano.
"Plans for the barbecue which will formally open this tract include a flag raising program, special speakers and a band concert. The barbecue luncheon will be served on the tract from 12 to 5 o'clock and directors of the San Juan Point corporations—Mrs. A. G. Walters, Joe Skidmore, Dr. J. L. Beebe and Eva A. Beebe will be hosts."
The Yacht and country club building is to be of the Spanish mission type and will contain four large sleeping rooms, each with private bath or shower, a large dining room and several smaller ones.
There are provisions also for croquet and rifle practice together.

"The Yacht and country club building is to be of the Spanish mission type and will contain low large sleeping rooms, each with private bath or shower, a large dining room and several smaller ones.
"There are provisions also for croquet and rifle practice together with stables and horses, while in Stillwater bay and further out at sea, boating, fishing and bathing are ideal.
"There is also a project for an excursion steamer to ply between Long Beach and Dana point daily at a moderate price. This would afford an ocean voyage to new plattesque sections of the southern coast. The round trip, it is said, would require three hours' time.
The romantic, scenic and historic Dana Point, formerly known as San Juan Capistrano Point, was made famous by R. H. Dana Ja., in his widely read nautical romance, "Two Years Before the Mast," of which he speaks in glowing terms repeatedly, little dreaming that this rugged and isolated bit of sea coast within a century might become the abiding place of art, culture and architectural excellence."
