AUCTION LOTS AT
G. G. SATURDAY
Edward P. Garrabee, who has been conducting a tract sale on Wright of Garden Grove will auction off any lots remaining at 4 p.m. Saturday. There were 15 lots unsold today. The lots are being sacrificed at one-half price to prevent mortgage foreclosure. The price is $999. Lots in the vicinity have sold from $700 to $1000. Ten percent is allowed for each. The buyer gets all mineral rights.
Nearly percent of the people in this rapidly growing community are Americans. Garden Grove, which is 15 minutes by auto from Anheim, shipped 700 cartloads of walnuts, citrus fruit, peppers and other farm products last year.
WEST COAST LEASE
Miss Peggy Planigan recently metered to Garden Grove, where she went up in an airplane. She said she enjoyed herself immensely.
Mr. and Mrs. Mr. F. Drake entertained a number of friends Sunday. The guests included, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Drake of La Habra, Mr. Drakes nephews and families Mr. and Mrs. Dollderd Drake and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ballard Drake.

WINSPROMOTION
Donald E. Bigelow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bigelow, 368 E. Center street has just been notified of his promotion to the Senior Degree in the League of Curtis Salesmen, an organization maintained for its more successful boy salesmen by the Curtis Publishing Co. of Philadelphia.
As a local representative of "his company" Donald has his own business cards and stationery, and as an additional reward for the success that he has achieved in his work, the Curtis Pub. Co. is starting Donald off with a savings account in a local bank.
Donald is proudly wearing his Senior pin and to his friends is showing the certificate of his new rank bearing the signature of the Sales Manager of the Company and the secretary of the league. He has already started actively to work for his promotion to the next rank in the organization.

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 15—Announcement was made today that a drive will be made by labor on Labor Day to secure the necessary signatures to place the La Follette-Wheeler electors on the California ballot.
Nominating petitions will be circulated at ever labor day celebration in the state.
"We will call upon all forward-looking and patriotic unionists of California to make a special effort or Labor Day; the day dedicated to progress and humanity, to secure on that day all the necessary signatures for Robert M. La Follette and Burton K. Wheeler," said the call. "Let us dedicate this labor day to La Follette as the symbol of political freedom and progress."
Signing the appeal are Seth Brown, president of the state federation of labor; Paul Scharrenburg, secretary-treasurer of the state federation; G. F. Irvine, chairman of the California legislative board, Brotherhood of Laboristic Firemen and Engineers; Ed Waters, chairman of the California Legislative Board, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers; A. J. Wasserburger, state representative Order of Railway Conductors, and Harry See, state representative of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.

DIVORCED IN PARIS
PARIS, Aug. 15.—Divorce devices were granted in the State tribunal today to two more healthy American women. They are Mrs. Arthur Goodwill, who was married at Portland, Ore., and Mrs. D. Polwell Bainbridge, who was married at Buffalo, N. Y., April 21, 1908.
Mrs. Goodwell, whose maiden name was Grace A. Jones, obtained the custody of her two children.
