BUENA PARK BUENA PARK, July 30.—(Spl.)—Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Spohn Friday were; Mr. and Mrs. Bird Tunstall and children and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Larne and family of La Habra. Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Hilgenfeld and family are going to spend two weeks at the S. L. Little cabin in Tujunga. The Rev. Jerry Behrns of Placentia will preach next Sunday morning and the Rev. Theodore Schaner of Riverside the next Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Dodd and daughter, Nina, came down from Hemet Sunday, returning Monday. Mina Lee, who has visited here for a week, returned home with them. The Dodd family has spent the summer on their apricot ranch near Hemet, but expect to be back here before school begins. Mrs. Robert Robinson of Los Angeles is quite sick at the home of her uncle, Edward Starr, of Magnolia-ave. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Spohn were dinner guests of Mr. Spohn's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Spohn, Sunday. George Thornton and family of Yoruba Linda are now occupying their bungalow on Eleventh-st. Mr. Thornton and family have been away several years. Among those who attended the Eastern Star meeting at Fullerton from here were: Mrs. Edith Mann, Mrs. John Page, Mrs. H. Haggarty, Miss Margaret Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Ehlnn and Mr. Mrs. Herbert Hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Upshaw and daughters, Ima and Burgess, started today to drive through to Fort Worth, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Upshaw have made many friends here who are sorry to see them go. Mrs. H. E. Warren entertained FOR Karefully Kleen a party of young people Saturday evening in honor of her son Thomas birthday. The evening was spent in dancing. The guests were Misses Dorothy Wents, Edna Jeas, Nell Roberson, Florence Chambers, Blythe Vaughan, Etta Burnett, Betty Berkey and Messrs, John Wents, Jack Fahs, Gilberi McDermont, Mason Hill, Stanley Berkey, Louis Matter and Fred Hezmalbach. Mrs. J. B. Robison and aunt, Miss Hattie Stanley, were Los Angeles Monday. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Girvin and son, Charles, motored to Whittier Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Simpson, James Leonard and D. M. Wilson attended a picnic given Saturday to the county employes at Orange-co park. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Williams were guests of their daughter, Mrs. Eliza Pugh of Huntington Beach Sunday. Vernon Karnes of Redondo called on friends here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar West had as week-end guests at their home Mr. and Mrs. Ralph West of Torrance. Mrs. L. T. Wilsey entertained her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Wilsey at dinner Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George McNeil received a letter from their daughter, Ethel, written on board the steamer July 7, stating that they were to land at Plymouth, England, the next morning, and would go immediately to France. Miss McNeil had a splendid trip, not being seated at any time. Mrs. A.C.Teagarden and children were down from Los Angeles Saturday and Max stayed to spend a week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.J.F.Huegunot. Mr. and Mrs.E.P.Mann and Mr. and Mrs.J.H.Page and daughter, Bertha, were Los Angeles visitors Monday. Mr. and Mrs.Claude Butler of La Habra visited Mr. and Mrs.Claud Allin Sunday afternoon. Mrs.J.E.Wright is back from Long Beach for a few days and Donald is visiting in Long Beach while she is home. Emmett Bush visited the Beach home Sunday, Mrs.Bush and children, who have visited here for two weeks, returned home with him. C.W.Girvin was a business visitor in Los Angeles Monday.
