PUBLIC LIBRARY ANNUAL REPORT Receipts at Fullerton library for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1924, amounted to $14,165.11, compared with expenditures of $14,089.49, was shown in the annual report of Miss Minnie Maxwell, librarian, just made public. Miss Maxwell said that of this amount $10,767 had been for library maintenance, and $3,-322.49 for permanent improvements. She gave a condensed report of the work for the year as follows: "The circulation and use of the library shows a very satisfactory increase over the previous year. An increase of almost 15 per cent would indicate a greater use of library facilities by the residents of the community." "The circulation from the adult department was 58,756, an increase of 4447. The average monthly circulation was 7920. The highest circulation was 10,201 in April. The lowest was 5843 and July when we were closed six days for repairs." "The total number of books is 11,810. Of these 8888 are adult and 2922 juvenile. There are 6749 non-fiction and 5061 fiction." "Because of the crowded condition of the library, the constantly increasing use, and the consequent increase in the amount of clerical and office work, it became absolutely necessary this year to provide more space in some way. Several projects were considered, and it was finally decided that the most feasible was to build a 14-foot extension to the north wing of the library, thus providing an office and workroom on the first floor and a periodical room above. The building was completed early in January, and the additional room provided has relieved temporarily the crowded condition of the main library. It has added greatly to the convenience of the staff." SANTA FE SANTA FE LEASE, July 9—(Spl.)—Mr. and Mrs. R.
