BUENA PARK BUENA PARK, July 8.—(Spl.) Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dano of Downey were Wednesday night guests of their son, O. R. Dano, and wife. Erwin Janks spent the Fourth at the home of his aunt, Mrs. S. W. Little. Mrs. Hattie Carney visited in Corona Wednesday. Mrs. J. B. Robinson visited her daughter, Mrs. Frank Payton, Thursday. Rev. and Mrs. Stauffacker of Minnesota called Tuesday afternoon on Rev. S. F. Higenfeld. Mrs. R. C. Cawthon of Cypress was in town Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Crilly visited friends in Bellflower Tuesday. Ruby and Cleo Nuttall have been visiting their aunt, Mrs. Will Branby, at Moneta. They returned home Tuesday. Miss Betty Berkey visited the Schoffelds at Balboa the Fourth. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jaynes of Santa Ana were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Middleton on Wednesday. On Sunday the Jaynes went to Lake Arrowhead for a two weeks' vacation. Hershal Jones and Vernon Criswell went deep sea fishing Thursay. Mrs. Ji S. Howell of Los Angeles visited her daughter, Mrs. G. E. Murch, Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Nelson were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Berkey Thursday. I. D. Jaynes and son, Clarence, returned to Lake Arrowhead Wednesday. Miss Elizabeth Jones was surprised Thursday by the arrival of her sister, Mrs. Foote, of Berkeley. Bessie and Lucy Walls were at Huntington Beach the Fourth. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dow and sons, Buddy and Billy, and Miss Zoe Jackson meted to Mount Baldy Sunday. The Crilly children, Barbara, dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Berkey Thursday. I. D. Root Thursday evening and attended the Ku Klux Klan meeting in the evening. Mrs. L. E. Berkey and son, Everett; Mrs. J. B. Robinson and daughter, Mabel, were dinner guests of Mrs. M. S. Berkey the Fourth. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wright are entertaining Mrs. Clarence Wright and two sons of Tucson, Ariz. Mabel Robinson and Ted Payn were Wednesday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Payton. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Meyer and Mrs. E. W. Thurman were guests of Miss Leah Root of Downey Monday evening. Mrs. Nellie Andrews and Mrs. John Boyle and daughters of Compton visited friends here Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Bacon and daughter, Mildred, and sons, James and Robert, attended a reunion of relatives at Orange-co park Sunday. About 35 people made up the party. Jut Spohn was a business visitor at Los Angeles Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar West had for guests Tuesday Mr. West's mother of Artesia and a sister from Whittier. Rev. A. D. Stanyacher, a college friend of Rev. S. F. Hilgenfeld, called on him Tuesday. Mrs. Lewis Upshaw and daughters and Mrs. W. B. Shaw were Compton visitors Thursday. The library board met Wednesday evening and installed Mrs. Oscar West as member. The other members are Mrs. D. W. Hasson and Glenn Crilly. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Pollock of Venice spent the Fourth with Mr. and Mrs. L. Huddlestone. Mr. and Mrs. Caryl B. Snyder were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Payton. In the evening they all went to Long Beach to see the fireworks. Mr. and Mrs. John Ingram have rented the Bitter apartments on Orangethorpe. Mr. Ingram is a brother of Mrs. John Robertson.
