BRICKBATS FLY AT C. C. MEETING
The boquet and brickbat session of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce meeting last night is said to have developed squally weather in the brickbat line when a paper written by J. E. Phillips, prominent Fullerton sub-divider and read by Dr. P. H. Mattner, landed a few right hand punches into the So. Cal. Edison Co., and wheeled about to fling a parting jab into the P. E.
Phillips complained about the Edison Co. being unable to furnish sufficient electricity, and said that when a steam engine broke down the railroad company got another one. The Edison Co. was defended by Capt. W. G. Franz who said that the water power of So. Calif. had never been so low as at present, and that the Edison Co. was trying to remedy the situation by the installation of a large generating plant at Long Beach.
Phillips held out that So. Cal. has a great system lets its water flow into the ocean and ships the oil away. The jab given the P. E. in general brickbat filing was that it did not have a Fullerton sign on its electric cars while it does have a Brea and La Habra sign.
George A. Raymer, secretary told the C. of C. members that the prospects for landing a big Louisiana plant in the Fullerton industrial site is bright, and that four other industrial projects are in view to increase the industrial prosperity of the city.
