Special days for the second annual Ramona Pageant, to be given at Hemet, May 30, 31, and June 1, were announced today as follows: May 30—Riverside and Riverside County Day. May 31—San Bernardino; Redlands and San Bernardino County Day. June 1—Los Angeles and All Southern California Day. The more than 100 persons in the Pageant cast have been rehearsal daily. The Ramona Bowl, the amphitheater south of Hemet in which the Pageant will be held, has been put in excellent condition during the past week. The production will be under the direction of Garnet Holme, widely known producer of open-air dramas depleting the history and romance of California. The cast will be headed by Mildred Brewer, who will play "Ramona," and Victor Jory as "Alessandro," her faithful lover. Each of these widely known artists has devoted many months to the study of the Ramona Pageant. The Pageant will begin at 4 o'clock each afternoon. This Pageant is being produced with the sanction of Virginia Calhoun, owner of exclusive dramatic rights on Ramona with Little Brown & Co., publishers, of Boston. METHODISTS LIFT BAN UPON DANCING SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 27. By a 5 to 1 vote the Methodist general conference lifted the ban on dancing and other amusements. The vote was taken without debate. Richardson upon recommendation of the justices of the state supreme court and the sheriff and district attorney of Los Angeles co., Jose Hernandez, declared to have been unjustly convicted and sent to prison for the robbery of the National Bank of Arecidia, was released today from Folsom, where he was serving an indeterminate sentence of from one year to life. Hernandez was pardoned on the condition that he return to Mexico immediately, however, as he was convicted once before of violating the law. Brouille Ballindo, the only one of the quartet left, still remains in prison, but his pardon is expected within a few days. AQUEDUCT GUARDED LOS ANGELES, May 27. While armed guards patrolled the Los Angeles aqueduct over its entire length in Inyo-co, introduction of a resolution by Counselman Ralph Criswell in the city council, charging that Los Angeles interests with ulterior motives were indirectly responsible for bombing of the aqueduct a week ago caused a sensation here today. Criswell demanded a thoro investigation by state and federal authorities of the dynamiting. AUTOIST KILLS PUPPY Mr. and Mrs. R.-B.
