5 MORE CENTRAL COMMITTEEMEN With five members to be added to the Republican County Central Committee, the third supervisorial district, which now has five is entitled to one more. Anahim, with three of the five in the district—J. S. Howard, E. C. Dutton and David Jessorum—is not regarded as having a very strong chance of getting the extra member. Fullerton with two, Richard T. Davies and William M. Irwin, has a better chance, although its representation would then be perhaps more out of proportion to votes or registration compared with Anahim's than it is at present. Brea or Placentia is regarded as having a better chance than either of the two principal cities of getting a member. Buena Park also should be considered, in the opinion of local political wise-acres. There are at present 18 central committees. Mathematically speaking the third district is entitled to nearly one and one-half more, if its present percentage is to be continued. But the arrangement isn't made that way. Each of the five districts will get one, making seven in the first, three in the second, six in the third, four in the fourth and three in the fifth. The Democratic committee also gains five new members, two in the third district and one each in the second, fourth and fifth. It loses one in the first district. MERRY FIGHT ON POSTAL SERVICE A merry fight may be waged in No. Orange co., over which postoffice shall serve which rural districts. Some of the smaller offices apparently have been looking with some disfavor on Anahim's wider ramifications into the country, and both Placentia and Yorba Linda are trying to LA HABRA, May 22. Some of the smaller offices apparently have been looking with some distavor on Anaheim's wider ramifications into the country, and both Placentia and Yorba Linda are trying to break off some of the territory served by rural carrier from here. If they succeed, what is known as route No. 3 from here will be "shot to pieces." Atwood already has made application to be designated as a postoffice, and if its petition is granted, Anaheim will lose some of Route No. 3 anyhow. Placentia and Yorba Linda offices are both in the third class, and insamuch as receipts are the only factor which raise any office to a higher class, neither would benefit much if any by getting the additional territory.
