S CHARGE HANSEN IS HORSE THIEF PASADENA, May 21—Ole Hansen, former mayor of Seattle, was at liberty today on $1,000 bail, following a hearing here on a charge of grand larceny, preferred by C. W. Basten, who alleges that Hansen took a horse from his property at Sierra Madre. While Hansen admitted at the hearing that he took the horse, he also explained that it was his personal property. Hansen claimed he brot the horse, named "Golden", a strawberry roan, which had lead many Seattle parades five years ago, south with him when he left the Washington city and that he was very proud of the animal. The former Seattle mayor also declared that his son, Ole Hansen, Jr., had the horse with him at Claremont, 35 miles from here, where he was attending college and that the horse escaped. Last Saturday, according to Hansen, he and his son were riding near Sierra Madre and saw the horse in a corral on Basten's property. Hansen maintained that he convinced Easten the animal was his and led it away. However, Easten yesterday maintained the horse was his as he had bought it and charged Hansen with stealing it. Hansen will have a further hearing next Thursday. LA HABRA Mrs. C. W. Rowley entertained the members of the Friday Afternoon club at her home on Mountain View-ave Friday.
