MIDWAY BRINGS IN LARGE WELL In addition to having the honor of discovering the field, the Chanster Canfield Midway is getting its share of the big production of the Torrance field and continues to place on completion many of the field's biggest and best well. During the past week the C. C. M. O. completed a well at No. 55 that went over the 1100 barrel mark and is producing 20 gravity oil. The big well was completed at a depth of 3725 feet. Torrance No. 43 completed at the 2800 foot level netted the Chanster-Canfield's daily output over the 12,000 barrel mark and makes the discovery company the leading producer of the field. Petroleum Securities Company Doheny's organization took second place among the producers of the Torrance field with a 975 barrel well at No. 22. The producer is making 25 gravity oil and ranks among the largest producers of high gravity oil in the field. Doheny has about five more wells to complete and it is understood that the completion of these wells will close his development work in the Torrance field. The Sentinel Oil Company continues to get a share of the big production at Torrance and brings in 750 and 800 barrel wells with considerable regularity. The Sentinel's latest completion resulted in a 750 barrel well at No. 5 on the Joughin property, and puts the holding up among the first rank of producing properties in the Torrance field. The Standard and Shell companies put five wells on production during the past week at Torrance. The two completions of the Shell company were Kettler No. 1 and No. 8, 200 and 450 barrel wells respectively. NEW TODAY SHAW APARTMENTS, 104 S. Helena, under new management.
