Successful Candy Sale
Members of the East-side Parent-Teacher Ass'n are enthusiastic over the success of their candy sale yesterday afternoon and evening, held in the lobby of the California theatre during the two showings of the Fashion Revue. Of course the candy was of the excellent home-made kind and an energetic committee worked industriously to sell it. A few sacks remaining, a visit was made to the dancing academy where permission to sell there was granted by the management, with the result that all were quickly sold out.
The committees are very appreciative of the assistance of everyone who helped to make it a success and will use the funds for the good of the Central and Broadway schools.

Another important event in Anaheim has become a matter of history, and has left a pleasant memory which will continue for some time. The tour showings, interspersed with the very splendid picture, “Pleasure Mad,” and a number of short entertainments, formed highly successful entertainment to large audiences and worked unforseen benefit for the merchants participating.
These merchants received frequent calls after the first night's showing of their apparel, which was so beautifully done by the dalty models, under direction of Miss Elise Schuyler, and repeated showing of some of the gowns was prevented through sale from back stage immediately after the performance.
The vaudeville program was particularly good as some rarely artistic dancing was performed. Dance Fads of 1924 were interpreted by the Misses Gladys Ladd, Virginia Martin and Mr. Harry Weber, all of them recently off of long eastern engagements. They are filling a 14 weeks contract on the Pacific coast and have been playing on the Orpheum circuit.
The merchants, the theater men the public and the yarticipants in the show are all thoroughly satisfied with this, the biggest fashion show yet, and have expressed themselves in line for repeating the effort next year.

THURSDAY Entering the Kingdom
Read Mt. 7:13-23. Text, 7:21.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.
"Salvation means being saved from a daily life of growing selfishness to a daily life of growing unselfishness and its inevitable enlargement of life. It involves a deepening acquaintance with God, to know whom is eternal life."
MEDITATION: "Doing the will of the Father"—there is nothing higher in heaven or in earth than to be sharers of the divine will. When one is committed wholeheartedly to the great enterprise of making God's will supreme, he has united his life with the ongoing life of God, which union will continue through the long reaches of the life to come.
PERSONAL QUESTION: Have I the courage of high profession knowing that it means making good or acknowledging hypocrisy?
PRAYER: Eternal God, help us to do some service for these today. Let our daily work bring blessings to others. May we be at one with those in the deepest places of our lives, that thy purposes may be our ideals. May we begin this day with a close feeling of the infinite and continue with it.
