F. A. SMILEY WILL HEAD FAIR BOARD
J. A. Smiley, president of the Orange-co. Farm Bureau, has been elected president of the County Fair Board; E. E. Campbell, secretary; L. G. Swales, treasurer, and the First National Bank of Santa Ana was designated as the deputy of the funds. A. M. Stanley, secretary-manager of the Farm Bureau, was elected manager for the 1924 fair, and the president and manager were authorized to employ an assistant manager when the need became apparent.
It was decided that the fair should be held on the same site as last year and L. G. Swales was appointed to make the necessary arrangement to secure the grounds. The matter of developing a publicity machine for the fair was left in the hands of the president, manager and secretary. Mrs. S. W. Stanley was appointed to act with the manager to investigate the possibility of a special entertainment feature.
The board was divided off each director being given control of certain features of the fair, and were empowered to appoint subcommittees to assist them in the work. This allotment of duties is not complete as possibly two more directors will be appointed in the near future.

In Blue Sandy Shale
After several months of "tough luck" "Trail Blazer No. 1" is once again speeding downwards day and night.
Indications point to the strong possibility of Kern County's newest oil field being opened up with the completion of present drilling operations.
With 2120 acres of full 7-8s leases, capable management and a well drilling at a depth where production may come "busting in" any day, looks to us like a real speculative opportunity to make "big profits in oil."
Here's a real "gamble" for you. Look it over—2120 acres, 7-8s leases and "quick action" on your money. Shares are $1.00 par. Send us a check or money order for yours today.

With Full Speed Ahead
After several months of "Tough Luck" our Trail Blazer No. 1 is now "blazing ahead" again at 2300 (March 14th) in Blue Sandy Shale—speeding down Day and Night.
Indications point to the strong possibility of securing a good producer on our 2120 acres in Northwestern Kern County at any time now. You know Kern County is the peer of oil producing areas of the world!
OPERATIONS HAVE NEVER CEASED since the well was "spudded in" steam has never been shut down—excepting during cement jobs. Statements to the contrary are "Maliciously" false.
Main Oil was a premium buy at $1.00 per share months ago even when we were in the midst of difficulties. What about it now—with "Full Speed Ahead."
We believe a stauncher bunch of STOCKHOLDING supporters never existed.
