YOUTHFUL PAIR STEALS MARCH UPON FRIENDS
MISS JESSIE MITCHELL and Harold McCloskey surprised their many friends by slipping to Santa Ana and obtaining a marriage license. They were married Saturday evening at 9:30 by Rev. J. A. Goissinger. The couple was attended by Miss Verna Mitchell, sister of the bride and Raleigh Taylor, intimate friend of the groom.
After the ceremony the couple went to the Perlus dancing academy where they bid their friends adieu. Upon their entrance to the hall they were greeted with strains from the Lohengrin’s wedding march.
The couple plans to make the new home in Redondo until a permanent location can be found.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Mitchell of E. Broadway. Mrs. Mitchell is at present in Oregon and does not know of the marriage. The young bride has been attending Anaheim high school and is very popular among the young set.
Party at Beach Home
Mr. and Mrs. James Sutherland of Anaheim and Anaheim Landing, very graciously entertained party of friends at their beach home over the week-end. Swimming was the main attraction and with other amusements the period passed but too quickly.

Round Table to Elect
Election of officers will be held Wednesday at the Round Table club of Plaentia, following a luncheon at 12:30. The nominating committee has presented the following names:

The Placentia Round Table club is one of the most active, successful women’s organizations in California and the programs are always far above the average.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Flemmel and daughters of Pomona were guests yesterday at the Degrief home.
Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Lyon moved to Glendale and other resort Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Lee pass Sunday with friends from Colorado at Venice and Santa Monica.
Mrs. George Vermellion and little son have returned to her hometown after a visit at the Rainey home.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Charlebow left Wednesday for Coaling where they will remain for three or four months. They made a trip in their auto.
Mr. John Cooper of Denver, who the gestur of Mr. and Mrs. L. Gneeleman Thursday and Friday, Mrs. Leonard Michael also Denver, is remaining as their guest for some time longer.
Miss Consulle Lemua of Los Alamitos is a patient at the local hospital.
Dr. F. V. Yorker, of Los Angeles, was the guest yesterday for his brother, J. A. Yorker, and wife.
Mrs. Bob White and small soot Bobble, have been visiting today in Hollywood.
Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Wilson, D., and Mrs. J. W. Wilson and M., and Mrs. Lester Deltzen and S., Robert, went to Balbon where they enjoyed the weekend in the Wilton cottage. They report that beach climate delightful for early in the season.

Attend Party in L. A.
Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Horman were in Los Angeles yesterday attending a birthday dinner party given for Mr. Adolph Bierent, Mrs. Bierent is the daughter of the Gunderson family formerly residing in the Sandilands place in Anaheim, and the dinner party was composed of relatives and old time friends of the family. Covers were placed for an even dozen and a very delightful afternoon followed the sumptuous meal.
Postpone Terpsichore
On account of other important events Thursday evening the March dance of the Terpsichore club has been postponed until Thursday evening. March 20th. The dance will be held at the Elks' club and Grigeby's California, the popular seven piece orchestra will provide the music. A large crowd is expected. Guest cards are being sent out again this month with the notices.
Home From Long Journey
Mrs. Elizabeth Millis, of 200 N. Carleton-st., returned home on the steamer Calliwal from Honolulu, where she passed several months with her daughter, Mrs. George McKinley, formerly Miss Alma Mills. She arrived late last week.
Mrs. Mills left Anaheim last July for a visit in Canada, remaining there through the summer months, and leaving from there for the tropical visit.
County Federated W.R.C
Orange County Federated W.R.C is meeting today in Orange Odd Follows hall with a good representation from the local corps. Business was scheduled for the morning with a nice luncheon at noon and the afternoon devoted to a program of music and entertainment.
A striking negligee of soft, clinging material faunts brilliant purple and greens in its batiked pattern. Somewhat bizarre in pattern and colors but attractive nevertheless.
Take Guests to Beaches
Mr. and Mrs. H. N. White and family and Mrs. W. A. Blatherwick and two children made a tour of the beaches yesterday.
Mrs. Blatherwick and children are visiting here with the Whites, their home being in Westfield, N. Y. Mr. Blatherwick, brother of Mrs. White, died about two years ago and this is the first visit of he family to the Pacific coast since their sorrow.

D. Guy home.

A pleasant family reunion and dinner at the home of Mrs. J. Strodoff featured yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Strodorf and children, of Los Angeles, and Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Yungbluth and family, of East Broadway, passed the time together most happily.
Photograph Babies
The White Temple is arranging to have its babies photographed and the pictures grouped about the walls. Photographs will be made without cost to the parents, and details are in care of Mrs. Wm. Wellman and Mrs. E. A. Collins.
The plan is a novel and splendid one and as the children of today become the men and women of tomorrow great pleasure will be experienced in looking over ten chubby faces. The arrangement provides for all children of the church under six years of age.
C.Y.P. Visits Mt. Baldy
Thirty members of the Catholic Young People's society passed yesterday very happily at Mt.Baldy where they celebrated their second annual club party. The greater part of the day was passed around Ice House canyon where they ate their picnic lunchon.

Charges preferred against Walter Candler, son of the multi-millionaire Atlanta Coco-Cola king, by Mrs. Clyde K. Byfield, noted beauty, will be aired in court at Decatur, Ga., shortly. In a suit for $100,000 she accuses Candler of having attacked her in a stateroom on the S. S. Berengaria, bound for Paris. Mrs. Candler is going into court at her husband's side, firmly believing in him. Candler's father recently won a breach of promise suit filed against him.

Successful Dance
The leap year balloon prize dance given Saturday evening by the Daughters of Anaheim, through the courtesy of the Concordia club, in the club house, was decidedly successful. The snappy music, with the players appearing in full dress, made a capital impression. Mrs. W.A. King, Mrs. Louise Gibson, Dorothy Stillens and Mrs. Innominate were the lucky ones in winning prizes. The affair was well attended.

DOUBLE FUNERAL
A unified funeral service will be held at Winbigler's chapel Santa Ana, over the bodies of Miss Nannie Robison, 83, and her sister, Miss Irene, 70. The latter passed away Mar. 1, but the body was held in anticipation of the death of the sister, who was very low. Miss Nannie died last evening. The two old maids were very well known in Santa Ana, and their passing will be grieved by many.
The remains will be sent east for burial.

Fruit growers and farmers of Orange-co. will be given an opportunity this week to hear one of the most interesting speakers on the agricultural outlook that the Univ. of Calif. sends out.
L. W. Fluharty comes to the Anaheim High school Tuesday night, March 11, 7:30 o'clock, and the Buena Park schoolhouse Monday night, March 10, 7:30, to help local farmers analyze their business and returns. He has been secured, through the farm advisor's office, to make a special trip to this county.
He will be prepared to answer questions on the agricultural situation today and will present considerable data secured during the past two seasons on crop production costs.
The meeting is open to the public.
U. S. Won't Permit Broadcast Monopoly
WASHINGTON, March 10.
The government never will allow radio broadcasting to be monopolized by any single corporation, individual or combination. Secretary of Commerce Hoover declared today in a public statement issued in connection with the radio war in New York between city officials and the American Telephone & Telegraph Co.

Weds Corona Girl

The bride is a very popular girl in her home town and her departure from that city is much regretted. Mr. Gillett, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Gillett, of North Lemon-st., has resided here for many years.
Men Pay Penalty
A barbecue dinner as a penalty for losing in a series of card games was paid yesterday in Orange-co park, when the husbands of the Women's club of Garden Grove provided the feast. E.R. Stillens and W.H. Sennett headed the committees on "eats" and arrangements and all question of the ability as cooks was laid aside as the ladies partook of the delicious meal. More than 50 men and women enjoyed the happy occasion together.
Guests at Steelheads
Guests Saturday at the Bert F. Steadhead home on No. Palm-st included Mr. and Msr. Harold Fry, Huntington Park, who were dinner guests in the evening. During the afternoon the visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hartley and daughters Marion and Enid, Mr. Herring and Miss Horning.
A pleasant afternoon was passed with music and conversation.
