BELIEVE "LEAK"
IN POLICE DEPT.
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 16—Police detectives today sought to locate in the police department itself an alleged "informer" who "tips" the underworld.
Belief that such a "leak" exists was due to the sudden resumption of bank bandit activities almost immediately after armed guards had taken off duty from downtown banks.
Three days ago the guards were removed. Late yesterday a lone bandit held up and robbed the North Broadway branch of the Pacific Southwest Trust and Savings Bank of $3000 after locking four employees in the wash room.
