A. Gaddis, owner and driller of the Gaddie well, half a mile south of Cypress, yesterday declared that this method was what had held up the former Lossors' Oil Co.'s development. Gaddie spoke without heat, but none the less firmly. He asserted that ranchers who signed up their land on such terms lost the opportunity of benefiting beyond two or three thousand dollars say, on the average, while speculators who sold the leases after a well had been brought in reaped the profit. Regarding his own venture, Gaddie declared: That his well is down 2500 feet, and not 1000, as commonly reported; That if a well comes in he expects it will be not less than 3000 barrels; That he does not expect to get oil before a depth of 3500, but does hope for oil, or he wouldn't have started drilling; That the geological conditions, he believes, are highly favorable: That he has leased 600 or 700 acres and is, he admitted, seeking more. The rig is approximately 118 feet high. Drilling has been steady, with three crews busy. Work has been interrupted only temporarily. NO CHANGE TODAY IN TRUCK DRIVER There has been no change in the condition of L. F. Keller, 27, oil truck driver injured near Laguna Beach, according to reports today from the Anaheim sanitarium, where Keller was rushed after his truck had capized into a ditch near the highway Wednesday. While Keller was believed to be internally injured, the hospital authorities did not view his condition as critical, they said. Keller, who resides at Huntington Beach, is married and has three children. Exchange Markets 75 Pct. of Crop. Reduced to fundamentals, it may be stated thus: A is provided with a telephone. B is provided with a telephone. C, through wires and mechanism, connects these two telephones. Satisfaction with the service depends largely on A and B. From the very beginning their cooperation is imperative. A must call B and B must answer. Doing these things in the way which makes for good service involves: 1 — Such care in asking for the number as one would use in addressing a letter. 2 — Such promptness in answering the call as one would give to keeping a personal appointment. 3 — Such courtesy as one would show in making or receiving a business or social call. 4 — Such clear, correct speech as one would use in the face-to-face transaction of the most important business. Each subscriber can increase the effectiveness of his telephone communication by such thoughtfulness as he would employ in his daily life.
