A SCREAM FROM
STEM TO STERN!
One of the biggest and funniest things that ever happened to the U. S. Navy occurred when Sam Purdue made a flying leap from his bucking bronco to the quarter-deck of one of Uncle Sam's dreadnaughts!
From the moment Sam landed on the ship, Uncle Sam had more worries than a dog has fleas!
See Hoot Gibson as Sam Purdue, the funniest landlubber that ever swabbed a deck or twirled a bowline to rope a bucking gob.
COPENHAGEN TO HAVE FORD PLANT
DETROIT, Jan. 5. — By next spring the Ford Motor Co. will have completed an immense new factory at Copenhagen, Denmark, which will be one of the finest in Europe, introducing in that part of the world new standards in design and operation.
The growth of the Copenhagen assembly plant since its opening in June, 1919, has been remarkable, and it is now the second largest among the foreign companies, first place being held by the plant at Manchester, England.
A total of 13 countries are served by Copenhagen. These include Denmark, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Free State of Danzig, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine and Germany.
The demand for Ford cars during the present year has been particularly good in the three Scandinavian countries — Denmark, Norway and Sweden — and the Fordson tractor has come into extensive agricultural use.
Construction work on the new plant at Copenhagen is well under way.

JAPANESE CABINET IS REACTIONARY
TOKIO, Jan. 4. — A reactionary cabinet, which the Japanese press and many statesmen predict cannot exist more than a few months, was assured today, when the Senyukat party promised its aid to Viscount Keigo Kiyoura in his attempted formation of a ministry.
It was regarded as highly probable that Kiyoura will recall Baron Hayashi from London to become foreign minister, and install Keisheiro Matsui, former ambassador to France, in that post.
Vice-Ministers Okada of the navy and Ugaki of the army, are expected to assume those ministerial portfolios respectively in the new cabinet.
The Kiyoura cabinet faces united opposition of both the press and in parliament at its outset, and because of this the prediction is made that its life will be but a short one.

BETTER LIGHTS IN COUNTRY REQUIRED
For city driving lights do not count for so much—just enough illumination to cover the law and that's all a driver demands. But out on a dark country road, adequate lighting often means the difference between safety and disaster.
If you have a temperamental battery, you follow the road only by intuition. But with a good healthy battery, each turn in the road, each hole, each stone, is plainly visible to you as you sit behind the wheel.
The importance of having a powerful, dependable battery in your car cannot be exaggerated. It means safety. It means comfort.
Rugged power is built into the Vesta battery. It lasts so much longer than other batteries do that it has earned, year in and year out, the title of the long-life battery.
There is economy in owning a Vesta, not to mention safety and comfort.
Start the New Year right by installing a Vesta battery in your car.
