Miscellaneous Seal Beach Women May Oust Marshal The entrance into Orange-co of what have been described as "Blue Laws" was seen today in Seal Beach at the first reading of an ordinance to prohibit dancing on Sunday. Simultaneously the Woman's Improvement club called upon City Marshal Jack Combs for his resignation and that officer refused to give it. The Women's club was backed up in its demand for the resignation of Combs by an organization calling itself "The Law Enforcement League." A hearing was granted Comb with the result that the trustees set a later date at which time the charges against the city marshal will be sifted. SINGER ENTERTAINS Fronk Marata, a professional entertainer, entertained the Rotary club at their weekly lunchcon at the Elks Club. Marata sang baritone, tenor etc., in his real or a falsetto voice, and rendered limitations of darkey music on the piano. Visitors were present from Santa Paula, Pomona and Fullerton. Payette Lewis was received into membership. CITIES COULD HAVE SAME CODE (Continued From Page Four) present is entirely unrestricted and the irresponsible builder can do as he pleases, said Steward. It would be a mistake to hold rural sections up to the standards insisted upon in the cities, the city manager declared. According to Price, this would be looked after by making requirements under the single county code different outside the cities from what they are inside. CHILDREN ABSEENT AT XMAS SUICIDES CHICAGO, Dec. 26. — Mrs. Mary Bartna, 42, today is dead by her own hands. Police called to her home discovered the body hanging from a beam in the basement. Bartna told officers his wife was disconsolate over separation at Christmas time from her children who are in Bohemia. LEE INFANT BURied Funeral services were held Monday at the McAulay funeral parlor for the eight-months-old child of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lee Handley of the General Petroleum Oil Lease near Placentia, Rev. Sanitation and fire prevention are the objects sought in codes, said Price, and Steward asserted that in sanitation also Anaheim is well-protected. One County ordinance with classes of building according to district—Classes A. B. C. and D—is what Price would have. The new County ordinance must be comprehensive, said Price. "We have to recognize the State law, which is a masterpiece, when it comes to protecting the living quarters of the public." The Anaheim code mentions no classes and is inadequate to provide now for the needs of a city which has emerged from a village. HEAD COLDS Melt in spoon; inhale vapors; apply freely up postrils. These rooms will be as fine as any in medical buildings of the larger cities. All the upper floors will be used for office purposes. Durfee has the leasing of them. The interior woodwork of the offices will be of mahogany, finished in a rich walnut stain. The offices are being arranged in suites, and several suites now are being planned to suit tenants. The banking room on the first floor will be one or the most attractive in the County, having a high ceiling, the center portion of which will be coffered. "This banking room will be arranged with a great deal of thought given to future expansion," said Durfee. "In the past it was hard to realize that the communities in Orange County would grow as rapidly, and consequently it has been necessary to enlarge all banking establishments to take care of the ever increasing demands, even the premises were not originally laid out with that idea in mind." A large portion of the basement will be arranged for the storage of valuable articles such as silverware, which will make it especially convenient for those who are absent from the city for extended periods. The building will be ready for occupancy by the latter part of 1924. H. W. Rust, arrested by Pickell, local motorcycle club, was arraigned before Brown on the charge of elonging the speed limit across sections. Pickell charged he was going 35 miles per hour admitted that he have been going too fast. Judge dismissed him after primand. COAST GUARD CREW HANGS UPON BUOY NEWPORT, Ore., Dec. 26.—After fighting a terrific storm for 40 hours in a 16 foot boat, seven men, members of the Yaquita Bay Coast Guard Crew, were anchored to the whistling buoy outside the harbor here this morning. The coast guard crew had put to sea late Monday in a vain effort to rescue Victor Webb, who was drowned when his launch capsized on the Alsea Bar. On the return their vessel encountered one of the severest storms experienced in this section in years and was unable to cross the bar into the harbor owing to the heavy seas. With only a limited supply of provisions and fuel oil on board, it is expected the members of the crew will suffer severe hardships from lack of food and exposure. Death Follows Hypodermic Needle DENVER, Dec. 26.—Funeral preparations were under way this morning for the burial of Attorney General Russell W. Fleming, 44, who died yesterday afternoon at Fort Collins from blood poisoning caused by an infected arm. A hypodermic injection to overcome a condition of high blood pressure was given Mr. Fleming Saturday. That afternoon he complained of pains in his arms. Treatment failed to relieve him and his condition steadily grew. QUAKE IN HAWAII HONOLULU, Dec. 26.—A distinct earthquake shock was felt here at 7 o'clock last night. No damage was reported.
