WEDDED AFTER PRAYER SERVICE LAST EVENING MISS LYDIA BENEKE and Mr. Delbert Fischer, popular Anaheim young folk, were married last evening at the West Broadway Methodist church immediately after the prayer service, giving their many friends a complete surprise. The couple approached the altar to the strains of the wedding march played by Mrs. F. W. Elger, accompanied by Miss Cornella Zigler and Henry Beneke. Rev. Elger preformed the ceremony. The bride wore a handsome dark suit with accessories to harmonize. Mrs. Fischer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Beneke of Ball road and is prominent in the affairs of the church. For some time Mrs. Fischer has been employed with the Sperry Flour Co. Mr. Fischer is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Fischer, of South East-st. After a short honeymoon, they will go to Escondido to reside on their orange ranch. Since announcing their engagement, the bride has been complimented with a number of social courtesies. Both are graduates of Anaheim high school and have a host of friends who will wish them well in their new home. After the ceremony and congratulations, the bridal party went to the home of the bride's parents, where a late supper was served. The big New Year's eve party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Marion, on Garden Grove road, to which invitations were issued in October, was enthusiastically planned, and the knights and sisters will be present to a man (and a woman). Anyone who will contribute even a small amount is asked to notify Mrs. Hebson, 'phone 987-W, or any of the members, and it will be gladly called for. A half dollar will be placed in each Christmas package, also. Thirty-five families of the boys in the hospital have received no compensation, and must depend upon their own efforts for a livelihood.
