Pre-Christmas Party
A jolly party occurred Saturday night at the Degryze home, So. Kroeger-st when the members of the "Doolittle" club and their friends enjoyed their first Xmas party.
The rooms were symbolic of the season with Christmas bells and streamers. In a corner of the room was a large box filled with gifts, each guest having contributed and one by one they were drawn.
Before and after "Santa Claus" made his appearance, dancing was the diversion. Late in the evening, individual pumpkin pies, donuts and coffee were served.
Guests included Misses Leona and Katherine Van Booven, Alvina Joct, Rose Poyet, Edyta Hayward, Elenora Quill, Thelma Lakeman, Amy and Anna Degryse, Messra Ernst Vrooman, Carl Mohr, Alvin Swanson, George Carlson, Lawrence Walters, Sidney McDonald, Leon Blank Francis Hester, Dan Lamb, Harold Reeves, Earl Degryse and the hostess, Lillian Degryse.
Home From Auto Trip
In recounting the many visits which they enjoyed on a recent trip north Mr. and Mrs. Georget Trapp toll of eating Thanksgiving dinner with Mr. and Mrs. S. Y. Dohm, of Anaheim until about two years ago, but now residing in Strathmore. They also visited in San Luis Obispo with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cass, where they enjoyed fishing, barbecues and duck-hunting. They also were guests of friends and relatives in Santa Paula and in the Ojal valley. They were absent 10 days.
New Pythian Temple
Organization of a Pythian Bisters temple was completed in Tustin Saturday with two very pleasing sessions, afternoon and evening. Institution was conducted by Mrs. Alice Goodhue, past grand chief, assisted by the degree team from her own temple in Garvanza.
Officers chosen in the afternoon were installed in the evening. Guests from the several temples in the county were present and the 6:30 dinner and the following hour gave time for forming new acquaintances and renewing old ones. The K. P. members attended the evening meeting, which was followed by a midnight supper.
At the helm for the coming year are Past chief, Nora Melvin; most excellent chief, Emina King Wassum; excellent senior chief, Eva C. Logan; excellent junior chief, Dorothy Padias; manager, Molly Smith, M. of R. C., Ora Caller; M. of F., Edna Squiree; Protector, Florence Kiser; G. of O. T., Eva Holford; press correspondent, Beulah Daver; russler, Edith Matthews; trustee, Ida B. King, Edith Matthews and Leona Alterman.
The new organization will meet the first and third Thursday of each month. It has been named "Tustin" temple.
Guests For Aunt
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Scott entertained with a delicious chicken dinner last evening in honor of Mrs. J. E. Tucker who is visiting from Stockton. Mrs. Tucker is the aunt of Mrs. Scott.
Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. Scott, parents of Mrs. Redfern; the sons of Anne Scott house hold; Mr. and Mrs. Redfern a small daughter, Betty Ross, who was a most important member of the crowd.
Literary Section Thursdays
The Literary section of the Elbell club will meet Thursday Dec. 15 at the home of M. Thomas Lumsdon, S. Kroeger at 2 p.m. The meeting will begin promptly as there is a program.
A review of the book, "Grow of the Soil," by the Norwegian writer, Knut Habsun, consider by eminent critics as the great novel of all time and a great masterpiece, one which teaches grand lesson, will be given by five of the most advanced students in the section, Mrs. Richard Grove, Mrs. C. E. Chamberlain, Mrs. W. Anstey and Mrs. G. M. Simson in parts covering the entire book.
A short sketch of Knut Habsun will be presented by Mrs. Fred Rick Schiller who has chaired of the program. Guests are invited that day.
Second Big Dinner
Twenty-six pink tapers wink at Mr. Ross Redfern yesterday noon as he was seated in his chair of honor at the Harry's Scott home, as if to say, "never mind, cle' boy, number me nothing in our young lives man's only as old as he acts." This was the second birthday feast for Mr. Redfern, too, as the family had enjoyed a delicious dinner at the host's home in Bue Park on Friday evening.
Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. Scott, parents of Mrs. Redfern; the sons of Anne Scott house hold; Mr. and Mrs. Redfern a small daughter, Betty Ross, who was a most important member of the crowd.

Official Board Meeting
An official meeting of the White Temple officers and heads of departments will be held this evening when all reports are expected. There is much important business to be transacted and a full board membership is desired.

After dinner, a pleasant social evening was enjoyed.
Wins Party Prize
Dr. and Mrs. C. P. Tompkin attended a bridge party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Blank at their home at Santa Fe Spring Saturday evening. Mrs. Tompkin was the winner of the first prize.

Library Section Thursday

SANTA FE LEASE, Dec. 10 (Special). — The Placentia girls' basketball team played with the Olinda girls' basketball team on Thursday; the game was very exciting. The score was 13 to 11, a very close game in Olinda's favor. The Olinda players were: Forwards, Frances Greminger and Esther Reyes; guards, Olive Schryer and Doris Wolfe; running centers, Hazel Cornine and Evelyn Morford; jumping center, Lucille Coggeshell. The Placentia baseball team at the same time played the Olinda baseball team. Score, 10 to 6 in Olinda's favor. Both games were played on Olinda school grounds.
Fred Jones of Orange visited his parents of this lease, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jones, Friday.
Curtis Smith of San Bernardino visited his brother-in-law, Bert Wieck, of this lease, Wednesday.
Early Hunker of Olive is spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Hunker, of this lease.
Mrs. John Wilbur of Redondo Beach was a visitor at her parents' home, Mr. and Mrs. McGuire of this lease, Thursday.
Those who attended Masonic lodge at Yorba Linda Thursday night were George Cullen, Sr., George Cullen, Jr., Edle Brainer, Frank Koontz, Ray Dean, William Elder, Bill Williams, Walter Cullen, Horace Schryer and Lee Cavatt, all of this lease.

Visitors at Shaw Home
The George Shaw home, on N.West-st, was the gathering place of a happy crowd of relatives and close friends yesterday, when Mr. and Mrs. William Chapman, and sons, Harold and Edgar, of Passdena, and Mr. and Mrs. William Chapman Jr., daughters Ruth and Patricia, or Eagle Rock, drove over for the afternoon.
Evening dinner was enjoyed later and the remainder of the visit spent in jollity, in which the host holds a master's degree.
Attend State Picnic
The South Dakota picnic, held Saturday in Blixby park, was somewhat spoiled by the cold winds, but Anaheim sent a representation. W. J. Elliott and the O'Neill family were among those renewing acquaintances with "folks from back home."
Dine With Sister
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Elliott and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Elliott, who are visiting here from Minneapolis, were dinner guests in Los Angeles yesterday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCaw Mrs. McCawla a sister of the Messrs Elliott.
Masons To La Jolla
Duena PYark is sending a delegation of Masons to La Jolla tonight to attend an affair given for masters and past masters. E.H. Metcalf, who has been visiting her ranch near Del Mar, will be present, and plans to return home to Anaheim tomorrow.

Club Christmas Party
The Woen's club of Fulbright is giving a Christmas party home of Mrs. S. W. Douglas Wilshire; Thursday of this "Tiny Tim," "Little Neck" the saintly "Agues" and Dickens characters will be sent by members of the costume and even the costume of the afternoon*will be familiar quotations.
A genuine old-fashioned will be the result and a Christmas tree will have a gift for every there.
Heatlesses of the afternoons are Mrs. Douglas, and Miss Andrews assisted by the dames Alexander Anderson McAulay, O. H. Jencks, and Miss Miesdred Pierce and Leen Rye.
The early date is set that belongs to the club in tend.

Tells of Recent Trip
Dr. William M. Wickett will speak Wednesday evening on conditions as he saw them in China, Japan and Korea during his recent tour of the world. He will wear various native costumes and exhibit a collection of curioses.
Lantern slides will picture any of the important places he visited, and as Dr. Wickett is an excellent talker, the occasion is applify anticipated. There is no mission charge and no collection to be taken.

"Nim Tiny," "Little Nell," the saintly "Agues" and other nicknames character will be represented by members of the club in attendance and even the conversation of the afternoon will feature familiar quotations.
A genuine old-fashioned party will be the result and a Christmas tree will have a gift for every one there. Hostesses of the afternoon Mrs. Douglas, and Miss Helen Andrews, assisted by the Mesmes Alexander Anderson, Angus Aulay, O. H. Jencks, and theresses Mildred Pierce and Katharine Rye.

C. A. Walker, local agent of the Santa Fe, is attending a business meeting in Los Angeles today.

Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Haverty and family, and Mrs. Haverty's brother, G. B. McClelland, drove to San Diego Saturday, where they remained until last evening, visiting friends. They were joined in Santa Ana by Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bosworth. They drove about San Diego and Coronado and interesting points near the southern city.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilkins and small daughter, Eleanor, motored to Taft Saturday morning for a week-end visit with friends.

Enjoy Old Home Visit
Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Wright entertained with turkey dinner Saturday, Mr. Wright's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Smith, and their daughter, Mrs. Srdvan, and two little girls, Joan and Eliza-beth, all of Los Angeles.
Mrs. Smith was reared in Anaheim, her home having been on the site of the Elks Park tract. As she had not been in Anaheim for many years, her surprise and pleasure were unlimited at the marvelous growth of that section of Anaheim. A drive about town convinced them that their former home is forging to the first ranks in growth and progress.
Mrs. Frank McFadden and daughter Evelyn, accompanied by her brother, W. L. Pierce and family, motored to Brookside Park Thursday, where a picnic lunch was enjoyed, and the afternoon was spent in the park.
