MAKE PLANS FOR MEMORIAL PARK
JOHN H. McKENZIE
Announcement is made of a new burial ground and the establishment of an advisory board of prominent citizens to carry out the project.
It is stated that increase of population and lack of efficient facilities in Orange County make this a crying need.
One hundred and sixty acres have been chosen seven miles southwest from Anaheim and development will shortly start along lines that are intensely interesting. The plans have been prepared by Cook and Hall who designed the Anaheim City Park, Recreation Park for Long Beach and are now engaged in planning the civic center of Los Angeles, Central Memorial Park, the name which has been chosen, will in the words of the men behind it "visualize life instead of death." It will be an area of beauty and features that will make it a desirable last resting place to every
OFFICERS SHOOT FOUR POSSEMEN
BRAZIL, Ind., Nov. 22.—Four men were shot in a battle between officers and possemen, all of whom were engaged in an effort to apprehend a suspected gang of bank robbers at Cory, 14 miles southwest of here, early today.
The officers mistook the members of the posse for bandits, whom they had been called to aid in the search.
for themselves one of the best payment investments in the real estate fields," he said.
Mr. McKenzie's public spirited action in devoting his time, experience, energy and resources to the supply of this need, has brought recognition by several local chambers of commerce and by prominent men. These men have got together as an Advisory Board which includes such well known names as D. Jessurun, Backs, Terry and Campbell, E. H. Metcalf, Charles Eygabroad, Walter S. Huddle and F. G. Redmond, all of Anaheim, besides a larger number from other parts of the county.
In the literature published by the Central Memorial Park attention is specially called to the fact that this class of investment is tax free and not amenable to bond leins or judgments. This is a further recompense to the person who has the community spirit enough to "do his bit" in financing this necessity, even in face of the big profits that are to come to him in a very limited period, according to the data of similar enterprises shown by Mr. McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie has established home offices in the Security Bank Building, Long Beach, where further information plans and descriptive literature of Central Memorial Park may be obtained or they may be obtained from the local manager, 212 W. Center-st., Anaheim.
REAL VODE BILL SHOWN AT LAS
Anaheim has some real vaudeville at last! Not the same old dancing chestnuts and allegory, but something different and a variety of it.
Last night's show at the Uned, the second of the week vaudeville performances, was knockout. And a first class movie show was given to boot.
Marco and Louise, magician did some stunts that kept audience on the qul vive all time they were on the stage. The inexhaustible bottle, from which all kinds of drinks were poured isn't precisely a new trick, but parts of it were. After many years the audience had had drink Marco remarked that someone had said the liquor had a peculiar taste. He thereupon censured his companion for bringing the wrong bottle and ordered her to fetch hammer. Cracking the bottle open a nice fat white rate emerged from it.
Taking an egg out of the center of an orange which he peeled making various things vanilla etc., were other tricks.
Roberts' petite revue with so many dance hits of this year was another big act put on by these little ones, a youngster of four five and two little girls.
Don Stanley's music on a score of what looked like whiskey bottles, and a couple of stringed instruments, is the sort of act that rarely has been seen here.
Phesay and Powell's "15 minutes of laughter" was also excellent, and Karinton Sisters ad Mack in "a snappy cycle of soo

southwest from Anaheim and development will shortly start along lines that are intensely interesting. The plans have been prepared by Cook and Hall who designed the Anaheim City Park, Recreation Park for Long Beach and are now engaged in planning the civic center of Los Angeles, Central Memorial Park, the name which has been chosen, will in the words of the men behind it "visualize life instead of death." It will be an area of beauty and features that will make it a desirable last resting place to every rational mind. While it will have all the requirements of an up-to-date necropolis, it will also have novel but practical ideas, that have never yet been incorporated in a burial place in the world.
The man responsible for the offering of this pressing community need is John H. McKenzie, now a respected resident of this district, but lately from the north country.
Mr. McKenzie, as the name implies, is of Scottish decent. He is a graduate civil engineer, class of 1902, from a well known northern university, also a graduate attorney from the Univ. of Oregon, class 1907.
His whole life has been spent in organizing and financing industrial and financial concerns. 1919 found him financing trust companies in the state of Oregon. Later he "put over" a $1,500,000 company also in the north west. Next a $1,000,000 Pacific Coast Radio Corp., found its capital thru his efforts. In San Francisco, he financed a new well known concern, with a capital of $2,000,000. Later, still, he managed and controlled the entire system of 40 branch offices of one of the largest concerns in the country with a capital of ten million dollars.
This company employs 600 salesmen. He brings to his newest enterprise therefore, a very wise and successful experience and a fund of knowledge of great value to Orange-co.
When interviewed on the subject of Central Memorial Park, Mr. McKenzie pointed out that while the help of loyal citizens was urgently asked to bring the plans made by the burial ground to fruition, they must not forget that an opportunity for profit was also presented that has no parallel in local real estate history. The possible profits on an investment in this cemetery is unbelievable by the ordinary person, he said. He instanced cases of cemeteries not far away where hundreds per cent profit had been made in a comparatively few years. The strongest point for the investor, he stated, is the fact that the price increases automatically as the sale of lots progresses and buyers have to sign an agreement that they will not sell under a certain substantial increase in price.

The strongest point for the investor, he stated, is the fact that the price increases automatically as the sale of lots progresses and buyers have to sign an agreement that they will not sell under a certain substantial increase in price.
He said that one of the reasons why many people who are aware of the exceptionally profitable character of an investment of this kind, do not take advantage of the opportunity is their aversion to making money out of a cemetery. This, he pointed out, is foolish.
"Someone must finance a project of the kind and those who invest should remember that they are in this case doing a real service to our community, in spite of the fact that they are securing

TRIES MEDIATION
IN G. O. P. SPLIT
WASHINGTON, Nov. 22.—The row between Republican regulars and progressive Republicans in the house has become so severe that President Coolidge was expected to take a hand in it and try to mediate the differences so that the house may organize and get down to business on scheduled time.
The White House is already showing its concern by sending C. Dasecom Slemp, the president's secretary, to the capitol for conferences with the quarreling factional leaders.
BELIEVE QUEZON
HAS MADE PEACE
MANILA, Nov. 22.—Despite denials of Manuel Quezon that he attended a council of state meeting at Governor General Wood's office—the first since the resignation of the cabinet last July—it was believed some sort of a truce or possibly peace has been arranged between the governor-general and the senate leader.
Quezon said he merely went to Wood's office on other business while the cabinet session was in progress. Only routine business was taken up but Governor Wood announced another meeting would be held tomorrow.
