WEDDING CROWNS ROMANCE BEGUN IN HIGH SCHOOL ROMANCE which began in school days was crowned at 8 am today with the happy marriage of Miss Jewel Dunn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Dunn, of 230 East Whiting, to Mr. Calvin Dean, also of Fullerton, Rev. E. J. Statom, friend of the principals since they wrote children, and former pastor of Fullerton Presbyterian church, but now of Alta Loma, officiating. But the immediate families of the two young folk were present at the pretty affair which was celebrated in the church. Immediately afterward a wedding breakfast was served in the California hotel and Mr. and Mrs. Dean left for a honeymoon via motor. The bride wore a beautiful navy and grey street gown of silk and wool fabric. She was attended by her sister, Miss Eonna Dunn, who also wore navy blue. Mr. Sam Ashe, a fraternity brother of the groom, served as best man. Both attended U. C. in Berkeley where the groom was for three years on the all-star team of that college. Miss Alta Statom played softly during the ceremony. Miss Dunn has been an active business girl since graduating from high school and was a valued assistant as bookkeeper in the office of P. Strauss & Co., of Fullerton. The grooms is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Deau, 232 West Commonwealth, and is a native son of Fullerton. He is a college trained civil engineer and is employed by the General Petroleum company in Santa Fe Springs. They will reside in Mexican Notable at Club Yesterday's meeting of the Round Table club, Placentia, was of unusual interest as Senior Leal, Mexican consul in Los Angeles, provided an attractive feature with his talk on conditions in his native country. He told of the encouraging activities with United States acting as a helpful next door neighbor and the ambitious development of the rich mineral and soil opportunities. He was accompanied by several of his countrynen. A musical program provided by the committee, with Mrs. T. L. McFadden as chairman, was an added pleasure. Courtesies of guest day were permitted and the attendance was unusually large. Hestames included the Mesdames McFadden, J. E. Scott and J. J. Farley. BRIDE ELECT IS GUEST OF HONOR AT WEBB HOME COMPLIMENTING Miss Lanette Rule, popular Anaheim girl who is soon to become the bride of Mr. Harold Bird of Orange, Miss Lydia Davys very charmingly entertained last evening at the home of her sister, Mrs. William P. Webb, Jr. The Webb home was smartly decorated in a color scheme of yellow and white and the flowers used added beauty and delight to the party. Various games furnished amusement for the affair after guests had made an assortment of pretty holders for the honoree. Miss Rule was presented with a basket containing many pretty articles of wide variety which she opened with interest and delight. Late in the evening, Miss Davis, coached by Mrs. Webb, served BUSINESS CLUB'S MUSICAL COMEDY ALMOST READY "PHOEBE", the premier Anaconda production, will be presented at Anaheim high school tomorrow evening by George Van Deacon, president, under the auspices of the Business and Professional Women's club, "Phoebe" is a comedy with music and a clever plot is woven into the two acts. There are fourteen snappy musical numbers including school duets, trios and quartets, and ensemble numbers. Solo numbers will be contributed by Mrs. Blanche Bell who sings, "East is West" and "Little Green God". Mrs Bell has a rich contralto voice Mrs. Helen Harden and Ed W Brown have several clever duet numbers that display their voices exceptionally well. Other duet numbers are furnished by Miss Irene Jacques and Harold Kahn Misses Elaine Schellens and Gretchen Holland, and Miss Gladys Dickersen and Harold Kahn. The reserved seat sale started at Heying's Pharmacy this morning and there was a grand rush There are more than 1200 seats in the auditorium and every one is a good one. The rehearsal last evening went off with a snap and every player was on his toes in his part. A chorus of girls adds considerably to the affair and includes Adaide Goodson, Maybelle Hall away, A. Pearl Edwards, Lucill Perry, Gladys Cottrell, Retz West, Callye Sparks, Ellen Tuma and Florence Smith. They sing "Some Party" and "Sonja." Miss Dunn has been an active business girl since graduating from high school and was a valued assistant as bookkeeper in the office of P. Strauss & Co., of Fullerton. School Carnival Friday Details are completed for the indoor carnival to be given tomorrow evening by the Orange-thorpe school beginning at 5:30 to provide funds for a nice Christmas treat for the children. The booths are going to be interesting and popular places where goodies of many kinds may be found, and a complete supper supplied. Hot dogs and coffee, sweets and pastries, as well as fancy articles, fortune telling booths, a fish pond and various other amusements are provided. The carnival is under the auspice of the Parent-Teachers association of that district and much interest is centering in the affair. Choral Party Tonight The Anaheim Choral Union, meeting tonight in St. Michael's parish hall at 7:30, will devote one hour to rehearsal of the cantata, Ruth, the Monobites." Mrs. J. H. Ritchie, Mrs. R. L. Royalty and Mrs. Walter Ross will then act as hostesses of the evening and the first of the monthly parties enjoyed by the club will be held. Every member is urged to be present at the rehearsal and is privileged to take along a guest, who is invited to remain for the party as well as to enjoy the singing hour. Since reorganization the club is showing renewed energy and interest in the coming production is one hundred percent. Walter Flower of Los Angeles special fuel agent of the Union Oil Co., was in Anaheim today. Mrs. J. V. Woodside of Santa Ana is a patient at the local sanitarium today. P. Fergus, second, carried on the ladies' prizes at the Elks carparty last evening, and Mr. V. LaMont and Mr. Harry Hughes second, for the men. The chosen game was five hundred and the party is the first of a series which will be held each third Wednesday night in the month during the winter. Honor Departing Friend Mrs. R. W. Balch and Mrs H. L. Turton entertained this afternoon with a patio tea in honor of Mrs. C. F. Grim, who leaves in a few days for a trip around the world. Guests of the occasion, which was held at the Balch home, 726 South Lemon-st, were members of the Beta Delphian group, of which Mrs. Grim was former leader, Mrs. C. W. Austin, president of the general Delphian society, and Mrs. Frederick R. Schiller, supervisor, were also invited. A shower of handkerchiefs was presented to Mrs. Grim and she will enjoy many a pretty thot of her friends at home as she uses those dainty accessories during the several months' absence. GOODBYE PARTY FOR TRAVELERS TO HONOLULU COMPLIMENTING the Misses Alice and Ruth Pannier, who are leaving in a few days for a five weeks' trip to Honolulu, Mrs. George Raines and Miss Marjorie Raines entertained a company of their friends as a jolly surprise. The two young ladies, who are special friends of the hostesses, were invited to the home of Mrs. Raines for the evening meal and were unsuspectingly chatting when the other guests arrived. A lively ten minutes of greetings ensued then discussion of the plans for the journey formed an interesting theme of conversation. The girls later wrote letters which the travelers will send en route to their island destination. The decorative motif of the evening was appropriate to the occasion, a replica of the steamer canu- HOLIDAY BLOOM ADORNS HOME AT CLUB MEETING MRS. A. V.
