8000-BBL WELL AT LONG BEACH The Long Beach field experiential affairs, and friends are awaiting their return for others. Enceded a new thrill this week with the bringing in of an 8000 barrel well. The big well has caused tremendous excitement at Long Beach not only on account of the great size of the well, but on account of the fact that it seems to open up a new deep sand in a portion of the field that has been considered of little value. Early in the development of the Long Beach field much stress was laid on the possibilities of the Love-lady Pool. Up to last week, however, the Love-lady Pool has produced but little bifl, and that has been from upper sands. It remained for the Marine Oil Corporation to drill a well down to 5070 feet and open up a land that has the possibilities the field has been said to have. The Marine Oil Corporation's No. 7 at 5070 is making 8000 barrels, 29.5 gravity, and is the greatest oil producer of the highest gravity in the Long Beach field today. The opening up of this great well means a revival of development of the Love-lady Pool, the refinancing of a number of promotions syndicate companies that have been standing idle for months. In addition to making one of most important discoveries ever made on Signal Hill the Marine Oil Corporation completed a 3000 barrel well at No. 22 at a depth of 4510. The Petroleum Midway is trying out a deep producer on Signal Hill at the Ellis lease. Ellis No. 1 was orilled to 5174 feet and is on a pumping production test showing a little oil. Davidson No. 2 a last week completion at 3900 feet is pumping about 300 barrels. The Sherman Oil Company drilling a deep test well on the Decker property did not get much of a producer.
