HELD UP, ROBBED
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14, 1911.
Blinded by the glare of a auto spotlight directed upon them by the bandit while two others held revolvers over them demanding money, a joy riding party of two women and two men was robbed of $133 in cash and $120 worth of jewelry at Western-ave., and 107th-st., early today, according to the police.
The victims of the holdup were Miss Martha Nean, Mrs. Marie Holt, Tom Martinovich and William Gjursich.

SUES HOTEL MAN
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 15.
Scott W. Alexander, hotel man of Long Beach, was preparing today to contest the suit for $1,000,000 damages filed against him by the So. Counties Gas Co. as a result of a campaign in the beach city to vote bonds for a municipal gas plant.
Alexander, who was a leader in the campaign for the bonds, was alleged by the corporation to have caused a letter signed by him, to be printed in a Long Beach newspaper and which the BIND GOMEZ OVER Pete Gomez, charged breaking into the Max Salsch der pool hall on N. Los Angle st., last week, was given a pro linary hearing before Judge Briand bound over to the Super Court on ball of $1500.

and painfully but not seriously
hurt last night about 7:10 o'clock
by a car driven by George Weathwerax, ct. 116 Resh-st., according
to a report to the local police.
The accident occurred when
Mr. Weatherwax was turning
north off Center into Resh-st. He
said the boy ran directly in front
of his radiator, was knocked
down before he was able to stop,
and by the time the car came to
a standstill the boy was lying underneath about three feet in front of the rear wheel.
Mr. Weatherwax said the boy
was pulled out by his father and
a friend, and that he took him
to the Anaheim Community hospital, where it was found several
teeth had been knocked loose,
and one knocked out. No bones
were broken., altho he was badly bruised, and was complaining this morning that the back of his head hurts.
According to the mother of the boy, he had gotten off a car to see what the name of the street was, crossed to the other side, and turned to come back when he ran in front of the Weatherwax car.
Other new patients at the Community hospital include: N. H. Haley, 509-15th st., Huntington Beach; and Mrs. M. Pross, 1310 Olive st., Huntington Beach.
Both underwent operations yesterday and are expected doing nicely.

An order to enter a default in favor of the plaintiff was issued today in Superior Court in the case of Harry Diebert vs Mary I. Diebert.
The Sheriff's office has been asked to be on the lookout for Roy Hopping, who "eloped from this Institution". Nov. 6, according to Superintendent Applegate of the State Hospital at Norwalk. He is 50, stands five feet, six one-half inches, weighs 135 pounds and has hazel eyes, grey hair, light complexion and a scar on the chin.
J. McGarity paid Justice J. B. Cox a fine of $50 after pleading guilty before Justice J. D. Cox in Santa Ana of possession of liquor.
Madalynne May Hood filed suit for divorce today from Troy L. Hood, alleging desertion and non-support. They were married in Los Angeles Feb. 21, 1919 and separated Dec. 28 at Fort Worth, Texas. They have one girl. There is no community property.
Henry M. Marple, deceased, left an estate of $4,606.90, according to the inventory and appraisement filed today in Superior Court. A promissory note of Nancy H. Moore for $3000 is the chief item.
General denial on the ground of lack of information is made by the Republic Casualty Co., in a separate answer as defendant in Yaeger, Rock Co., vs. Santa Anna City School District et al.
Montry Mays in a complaint filed in Superior Court today is charged by the People with assault Nov. 10 on Edward Newton. Roland Newton swore to the complaint.
The Edison Securities Co. filed articles today in Superior Court. The capital mentioned is $10,000 of which $500 has been paid in. The main office is Los Angeles. Nobody of Orange-co. is a director.
An award of $262.84 and $679 per week until further notice from Sept. 29, is granted to Mary Glavind by the State Industrial Accident Commission in her claim against George Andrich and Arthur Robinson by whom she was employed as a dishwasher in Orange. The woman fell and broke her right ulna and hurt her right hip, completely disabling her.

One check was for $23.10 given Charles C. Hinton on Aug. 3, and the other for $26 given Mark Hausman on Aug. 4. Both were drawn on the First National Bank of Santa Ana.
Thomas H. Berry gave bail of $500 cash for his appearance Dec. 5 to answer the charge of having passed a worthless check for $45 on William S. Hatch, Oct. 27.
The check was drawn on the California Bank of Los Angeles.
