EXCITING STORY
IN UNITED FILM
One of the most entertaining photo-plays presented at the United Theatre this season is "Your Friend and Mine," the screen version of the stage act by Willard Mack, with the author in the role he played on the stage. It has all the elements that go to make a film of genuine satisfaction. Story acting, settings, and direction are all of the highest order, leaving nothing to be desired.
"Your Friend and Mine," tells in love with the wife of the author to show up the evil intentions of a bogus artist. The latter is in love with the wifel of the author's friend, and the husband is ignorant of the artist's true feeling toward his wife. The author reads to the wife, in the presence of the artist, the manuscript of a play which he has written. It is concerned with a situation in which all are involved; and its dramatice climax is so impressive as to defact the schemes of the artist.
Willard Mack is his usual self in the author's role. Enid Bennett does well as the neglected wife, and Huntley Gordon is admirable as her husband. Others of importance are Rosemary Theme and J. Herbert Frank.
Another one of those Snub Pollard comedies, "Jack Frost," will be shown on the same program. And on Saturday matinee and night the fifth episode of one of the most stupendous historical chapter plays, "In the Days of Daniel Boone," will be screened.

SIAMESE PRIESTS CAN'T SEE SPORTS
BANGOK, Nov. 9 — Siamese priests are forbidden to attend race meetings, football matches and boxing contests, according to a decree issued by the Prince Patriarch, head of the Buddhist church in Siam.
The patriarch says that this order has been made necessary owing to the increasing number of wearers of "The Yellow Rose" who enjoy "a flutter" at sports meetings, and the laity are asked to assist in seeing that the order is carried out.

BOY FINDS JOKE TURNED ON HIM
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 9 — Walter Richardson, 17, asserted son of S. L. Richardson, wealthy resident of Atlanta, Ga., decided today that the joke was on him.
He told police that he registered at a fashionable San Francisco hotel as John Candler, son of the Coco-Cola kin, as a joke and thot it was also good "spoof" on the Candlers, long friends of his family, when he wrote checks aggregating $15,000 which have been returned.
“There sure is a lot in a name” young Richardson said today, “everybody seemed anxious to sell me things as soon as I had registered as Candler. They took my checks without question. They are really to blame for rushing me so.”
According to Richardson's story to the police and inquiry of detectives assigned to the case, the boy was given $1500 to make a trip to the coast. Enroute here he fell in love with Miss Hortence Cowin, young Chicago girl, who was also enroute to San Francisco to visit relatives. She did not take him seriously despite his "Roll-Royce" tone and to impress her he bot three automobiles the police said.
Miss Cowin refused his gifts she said, and for several days had declined to see him. The youth claims relationship with Lumford Richardson, big southern drug manufacturer. Word of his plight has been sent his parents and he confidently expected aid today from his father.
