UP TO AMERICA TO SAVE EUROPE (By William K. Hutchinson) (I, N. S. Staff Correspondent) WASHINGTON, Nov. 9.—The American government in common with the world war allies, must rescue Germany from disintegration and economic ruin or Bolshevism will run rampant over all Europe—this was the warning issued today by Senator William H. King, Democrat of Utah, in a statement urging President Coolidge to immediately summon a world conference to save the reich and preserve world peace. "The disintegration of Germany," Senator King said, recently returned from three months in Central Europe, "will shake the world." King said that Germany's crash is imminent and that Russian communists already are organized to support a monarchist revolution against the Berlin government with the ultimate aim of establishing a German soviet. "The situation in Germany is so precarious as to compel the attention of the peoples of all lands," said King. "The destruction of Germany would involve the whole of Europe and such a catastrophe would follow as to shake the world. Aside from any legislative formula or juristic consideration, the United States should interpose to avert the imminent calamity. "Our government should promptly call a conference of the allied and associated powers for the purpose of considering the necessary steps to be taken to save Germany and to preserve the peace of Europe. Meantime, the hands of the German government should be aided in every way. Steps should be taken to supply food to the suffering inhabitants of Germany, because starvation in the face of the coming winter will hasten the marching spectre of Bolshevism. "Even if France should be recalcitrant to this movement, the conference should proceed. The facts as to Germany's capacity to pay reparations should be ascertained and findings made with respect to the controversial questions which now separate France from her former allies. "Findings by a conference of this character would commend SANTA FE LEASE, Nov. 9 (Special).—Many of Jake Collins' friends were very sorry to hear of his sudden death.
