STRANGLER MAKES VERY SHORT WORK By Sargum Sprout Strangler Lewis was an exhibition at Orana just about seven minutes last night, and that was long enough to prove to the fans assembled that Mr. Lewis is one whale of a man. Jack Romans might be a tiger in his own class but he is not in the Lewis class. Lewis ran under one of a big steam roller with nonster grab-books attached. Romano could do nothing to stop the monster. Lewis used only the head lock and after allowing the tiger to break foot or five he tightened up on one and the show was over. Lewis had no occasion to use any speed or action. He appeared just a cumbergome monster. His size and strength puts him beyond the class of any ordinary big man. We suppose he has action and we would enjoy seeing him when he had to use it. Greek net Greek when Jim Londos and our old friend Louie Pergantos tangled. Tangled is right, they put on a real honest to goodness hair pulling and both had a plenty to pull. Jim Londos resembles a great big bronze cupid. Ans a god of love he would be a dinger, and his grunting and rough stuff seem so out of place with his baby face that he is really interesting. Pergantos led the way and had the bouncing Greek in several tight places till Jim bounced a flying head-lock on Louie. Louie was befuddled when he came up and ran right into another. Jima seemed bent on twisting Louie's head off, but finally settled down to a straight head-lock and the show was over. The time, 20 minutes. Joe Pilling proved to be too large for Eddie Dyer. Eddie was all there and showed the larger man what a good little man can do so long as he could last. Eddie tried a lot of vicious holds on pilling, but was not strong enough to hold them. Pilling used a lot of stuff before he finally landed a sort of crouch hold that had Eddie hog tied. Jack Herrick; introduced as one of Jack Dempsey's sparring partners, refereed the first two boutts and the one and only "Bool" Montana the last. Herrick may be a boxing expert but as a wrestling referee he is the bunk. "Bool" was introduced before the Londos-Pergantos match and made a short speech which was one of the high lights of the evening. He also challenged Londos and was accepted. "Bool" and Jim love one another like not, and the coming match of two weeks will be about the best thing Orange-co eve saw. "Bool" flopped Londos the first time that they met and Londos returned the debt with interest the next. "Bool" wants a chance to get even with the rought Greek, and the way Jim went after Pergantos last night the fur is bound to fly when he takes the terrible "Bool".
