Miscellaneous SALT WATER FOUND AT SANTA FE SPRINGS The Luceta Oil Co. drilled out the cement in its No. 1 cemented thru perforations of the 4 1-2 set at 5958. The well was something of a disappointment in that it showed a quantity of salt water. Efforts will be made to effect a complete water shut off and make a conclusive production test. On the success or failure of the Luneta's test well the future of the southern district of the Santa Fe Springs field depends. The Standard Oil Co. is going merely down on the Brownrigg Keller 2 well for some time the deepest test hole yet to be drilled in California. Drilling is now at 7200 feet. The long string of 4 inch drill pipe, the longest ever used before is running true to form and is making a great record for the rotary drilling business. The drillers on the world record deep well are using every precaution that the work may continue as long as officials of the company see fit to continue. Should the Standard find something at 7500 or 8000 feet it would certainly create a sensation in world oil circles. This well will not only be the most conclusive test for the north line of Santa Fe Springs but for all Southern California. At a depth of 4665 the M. and H. Oil Company drilling the West Extension of Santa Fe Springs is reported to have had a showing of oil. M. and H. officials would not talk on the report, and the showing could not be verified on that account. Oil experts in general seem not to be taken seriously with the report. Huntington Beach production continue to drop. The drop is not heavy but gradual. This past week the output was only a little above 90,000 barrels daily, and it is doubtful if the new wells coming in will be able to take care of the decline Huntington. NEW TODAY FOR RENT—Nicely furnished room. 200 N. Helena st. AUTO SUPPLIES FOR SALE—Ford Sedan, sacrificed for immediate sale. Owing to financial reverses I am prompted to sell at once this fine family car; had perfect care; A1 mechanically; new paint; upholstery looks good; bumper rear and front; nearly new battery and tires; shock absorbers; extra tire and tube; flower vase, mirror, rubber pedals, etc. Write Box M, Plain Dealer. "CAN WOMAN LOVE TWICE?" AT UNITED The world-moving power that lies in a little baby's groping fingers was never more forcefully woven into a drama that it is in "Can A Woman Love Twice," the new Ethel Clayton picture which comes to the United Theater tomorrow night. In this attraction the love of a girl-widow for her baby son is the goal that drives her to practise a great deception. But unlike many of the "mother" pictures, which have gone before, it does not deal with a gray-headed mother, whose life is lived in the lives of her grown children. The story is a story of the girl of today—a girl who marries a wealthy youth just prior to his departure for the battlefields of France, and whose parents disapprove of her. On her own resources, the girl after giving birth to a son, innocently is persuaded to take a job in a cabaret. She abhors the life, but must make money to support her baby. Forced out of this job, she seizes the opportunity of passing herself off as the widow of another man who was killed in the war. She takes up residence with this man's father. This past week the output was only a little above 90,000 barrels daily, and it is doubtful if the new wells coming in will be able to take care of the decline. Huntington Beach's largest producer this past week was the 500 barrel well completed by the Western Seaboard Oil Company at 4890. The Western Seaboard producer is an old well re-drilled and deepened. The Olig Crude Oil Company has succeeded in getting its No. 1 on steady production. Drilled to 3504 feet, and producing the top zone the well is doing a 150 barrels. The Sun Oil Company puts its No. 6 on a production test at 3125 feet and the well seems good for a 100 barrels. Montebello is bending every effort to come back and get on the oil producers map again. The efforts center about the H. L. Whiston well on the Bicknell property. The Bicknell well at the present time seems to resolve itself into a matter of solving the water situation. On drilling out the cement in the 8-14 set at 4340 the well made some oil accompanied by 200 bbls. of water. It is not known just where this water is coming from and efforts are being made to locate its source. With some 80 feet of sand drilled through Whiston says that he has reason to believe he will get an oil well. BUENA PARK BUENA PARK, Sept. 27.—(Spl.) Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Danker of Richfield were Friday evening guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Seemayer of Eleventh street. Mr. and Mrs. Parker Nevala motored to Venice on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Nuttall and children of Fullerton were Sunday callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Braly on Court-st. E. R. Seemayer and son Johnny motored to Lake Arrowhead with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Danker of Richfield, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Woodfin enjoyed Sunday at Venice and Ocean Park. Arthur and Edward Thurman motored to Idlewild on Sunday. Bailey Shaw caught his right thumb in the electric wringer on Monday and mashed it badly and lives of her grown children. The story is a story of the girl of today—a girl who marries a wealthy youth just prior to his departure for the battlefields of France, and whose parents disapprove of her. On her own resources, the girl, after giving birth to a son, innocently is persuaded to take a job in a cabaret. She abhors the life, but must make money to support her baby. Forced out of this job, she seizes the opportunity of passing herself off as the widow of another man who was killed in the war. She takes up residence with this man's father in California. The complications arising from this situation are multiplied when the supposedly dead man returns home. But the girl, because of th estrangement between father and son, does not know who the "stranger" is. How she does learn, and how second love comes to her, forms one of the most gripping series of situations ever conceived. Miss Clayton's leading man in her newest offering is handsome Malcolm McGregor.
